I only wish it came out sooner

If this product had come out sooner I would have water far less money on Bluetooth speakers. Great sound, great integration with my Sonos home setup. If I had one small complain it would be the lack of an Apple Watch app. When I'm outside it would be handy to be able to change music without a phone when I'm working in the yard.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Please develop an Apple Watch app

The set up was super easy and the sound quality for such a small device was excellent in comparison to the Bose system it replaced. I also like the Google Home assistant that you can easily add.

The Roam is exactly what I've wanted and waited patiently for over the last 4 years. I like that I can include all or partially add the other Sonos speakers in the house. I like the Bluetooth component which is what I really wanted as Deezer over Sonos differs from steaming using mobile phone. The Roam ticks all the boxes. My major grip is the weak product guide. There are no diagrams of the unit pointing out each button or where lights might be and what each is used for. The set up was easy but figuring out what the lights meant, how to turn on etc. took time. I did figure it out using what was provided on line. The set up and initial use would have been seamless had this been provided in box. Just a picture with brief description of buttons and what lights mean and where lights are located is all that is needed.

Sonos products insticriivly seem to know that where music is listen to is as important as the music itself. Why let wires dictate your lifestyle. Music should be transparent, transportable, rain or shine. Sonos makes that happen for a lot of folks. Full Mark's.

Great portable sound

My intention was to add Roam to my existing suite of Sonos speakers, especially when I was outdoors in my backyard. I realized afterwards that it doesn't connect to my S1 controller; I would actually have to download the S2 controller to interact with it. Once I setup the S2 controller, I was then easily connect to the Roam. It sounds really good for a small sized speaker. However, I can't use it the way I had originally intended, which was to add on to my existing rooms. I can only use it as a stand-alone speaker, and frankly, I could have gotten another Bluetooth speaker to do that. I also have to work with two Sonos controllers on my phone, which don't really cooperate with each other. It's a shame that Sonos wasn't able to deliver on the promise of seamless music everywhere.
Pros: Superior Sound, Wireless
Cons: Difficult Setup
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Initial set up was painfull

It took over 2 hrs to set the roam up with SONOS TECH help. Maybe I have not used all of the functions but in my home I have multi generations of SONOS speakers so SONOS 1 and SONOS 2 do NOT function well together. I find the on off button is not easy to use. The sound is good for the size but not jaw dropping when you consider the cost. Not sure if i am happy yet or not.
Pros: Size, Superior Sound
Cons: Difficult Setup
