I take it with me to outside locations...patio, park, etc. Sound is excellent. Also, SONOS provides terrific live technical support

Bought to expand Sonos system out to the patio/yard, and for travel. Works fine on Sonos via wifi, but not a great travel or Bluetooth speaker. Can be difficult to switch devices, etc. and for the money nearly every other Bluetooth speaker is the better purchase. If you don't have any other Sonos products there's no reason to own this.
Pros: Expandable
Cons: Difficult to Use, Unreliable

I'm thrilled with my new addition of the Roam speaker. I've had a Bose Soundlink Mini Bluetooth speaker which was always nice for the beach but 9 years later, it's battery life is poor and it is heavy as a brick. The new Roam is lightweight, beautifully designed and under 1lb. The best feature is that it syncs with my other Sonos One speakers so whether I'm in the bedroom, living room or sitting out on the patio, the music is streaming consistently everywhere! The setup was intuitive and took less than 2 mins. I'll be curious to see how long the battery lasts on a charge.

I like it -- it sounds great, super easy to setup, seamlessly integrates into Sonos app with other home speakers. All good except for one thing -- I hate that it automatically turns on with the App. I get the rationale as to why, and I understand that it does so in low power mode. I get it. I just personally do not like it and wish I had the option to disable this function. If not for this, or if I at least had the ability to turn this function off, then I would give 5/5 stars like all of my other Sonos products.

Can't be a standalone mobile product

I already own several Sonos products at home and this is a good addition. But the lack of bass on this portable device is disappointing. Sonos could have made it about the size of UE Blast which I also own to gain bass but made it tiny compared to other mobile speakers. I guess they're afraid folks would say it's too big like the Move, which was the reason why I didn't buy it. I've read reviews that to realize more bass on the Roam, you have to pair with another Roam. This is dumb. Who travels and carry a bunch of speakers in their backpack? I wish Sonos would put more thought into this before rushing a product out to market.
Pros: Airplay compatible
Cons: Battery drains quickly, Does it support multi SSID, lack of documentatio, Lack bass

The new SONOS roam is an amazing product in theory, but needs updates. It cuts in and out multiple times a day when we use it, earlier today it wouldn't even turn on. Both of these issues are all over the internet. We also have a SONOS move which works flawlessly, so it's got to be the software. I would say I have a defective unit, but every problem I am having, other people are having too. Please SONOS release an update to fix these issues. This product is not working well, especially when compared to the other amazing products you have released in the past.

I bought this speaker to be a portable speaker that could work seamlessly out on the trails and inside of the house. It does exactly as advertised. The WiFi and Bluetooth transition is awesome. The down side is the speaker sound quality. I get for a small speaker it sounds good and I didn't buy the speaker for the sound quality I bought it for the Bluetooth and WiFi multi-purpose functionality.
