Great Portable Speaker

I preordered this in April and received it in May. Now that I've had it for a few weeks I'm very happy with my purchase. Sound quality is very impressive for such a small package. Lots of bass even when listening outside, love that it is IP67 rated in case it gets wet, and very happy with how it integrates into the Sonos ecosystem. I haven't used it in Bluetooth mode but it seems easy enough to pair based on instructions. Battery life seems to be very good. I'm not sure how much the Trueplay autotuning really changes the sound dynamics based on environment, but maybe it's better than I think since it's sounded good anywhere I use it, at my desk in the basement, in the kitchen, outside, etc.

I like music playing all over my home, but the one place I still needed a Sonos speaker was in my shower! Problem solved! The price point for the Roam was fabulous; however , since there is a cord provided, it would have been helpful if there was some guidance about the type of charging plug (Wattage) was required.

Found the pairing and ON/OFF button not intuitive. Sound seems to be more one-directional than immersive, especially dependent on how your position the speaker. Sound quality is lacking with deep bass notes. Size and form are excellent. Have not tested a single charge duration yet. Ordered the charging stand but haven't received it due to backordering. Overall, a great little speaker, especially for use during travel.
Pros: Small, Wireless
Cons: On/Off Control + Pairing Not Intuitive, Poor Immersive Sound

We have a Sonos music system in support of our TV room. So, adding the Roam to expand the listening experience to another room was our initial motivation. Turns out we are using it more for outside oistening - streaming Amazon Music, Pandora, etc. we recently did a 10 day car trip across several states and used it every night for music in the hotel rooms. It is a good friend bringing us superior sound in a compact package. We love it‼️

I originally ordered two Roam speakers, one black one white for stereo when we travel. while waiting for them to arrive from Sonos I happened to drop by our local sound shop and they had just gotten in their only Roam. I bought it and put it in the shower. Wonderful results. so nice that it is water proof. I took out to the spa on the deck this morning and it worked great.

I'm a big Sonos fan but was a bit disappointed in the Roam. The convenience of a portable speaker at what I assumed would be the same Sonos quality as my other speakers was really appealing to me but a few downsides of the Roam: - The color options particularly the 'white' isnt the same as the other Sonos speaker white color - The buttons for volume, etc seems really cheap for Sonos tbh - It's far more testy to connect to WiFi in different locations than any other device I own

Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to Use
