Very very good, with some limitations

This trash can works great. The voice controls work perfectly and I love the convenience of the in-unit bag dispenser.
My only complaint is that it's really only meant to be oriented with the long side facing forward. I have been using this can with the narrow side out, in a slim gap in my kitchen. And from that angle, the motion detector can be finicky. Aside from the fact that you have to reach toward the middle of the can instead of the front to activate the motion control, there is also the fact that sometimes the motion detector catches false positives from the countertop immediately adjacent to it.
I'm still quite happy with the product and I'd enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who intends to use it in the direction that, frankly, it's intended for. If, however, like me you want to use it with the narrow side out, you should be prepared for some minor limitations and frustration. But even so, I still really like it and you probably will too.

Randomly opens and closes

This is our second simplehuman motion sensor trashcan. We love that it opens when we stand in front of it. However, the voice control function is a joke. The trashcan randomly opens and closes on its own when it detects voices—even if no one says the open/close prompts. I asked customer service about disabling the voice control feature but they indicated that wouldn’t be possible.

Paint is weak

I bought this trash can because of its sleek, modern design. I went to throw something away on the first day and it accidentally touched the top and left a mark and a tiny dent. This is my third trash can from simple human and all of them have scratched and dented easily. Please work with your product team to design this can to be more durable.

Good idea, poor voice control

The can opens and closes softly and quietly. The motion works great. Wish there was a way to shut off voice control, the can tends to open with any command that sounds remotely close to the ‘open can’ control. Voice command accuracy is not anything close to similar products with voice control like Google or Alexa. Thinking of returning due to how often can randomly opens without prompt.

box was fine, but the side of the can had large dent in it running the full width. Can works great and would be 5 stars if it hadn't turned up with a dent.
