Our second dual can purchase

Thus far, we like every simplehuman product we purchased. They are nicely designed and function as intended.
We have a step duel can at our year-round home. While adapting to the sensor version of the dual can, we've learned that it is quite sensitive. As a result, we are still working on the best location to avoid random lid opening due to motion. The voice command is less sensitive; unless we raise our voices, it won't open unless we are within 2-3'. In all, we like this product.

Great dual compartment

It’s great that you have the option to plug in or use batteries. I don’t know how fast it’d eat up batteries though, if that’s your only option. It’s small enough that we’re having to take the trash out more often (less stink) and you’re having to more thoughtfully discard recyclables (clean and dry like it should be) , but it’s big enough to hold a fairly decent amount of trash. The voice commands are great. As a home cook, I often have a handful of wet strawberry tops, etc. and the voice commands make it so much easier to prep big snacks and meals bc you’re working smarter not harder. It’s easy to clean, a great size, and makes working smarter not harder easy.

At first I was not sure if the purchase of this product was wise considering the cost, I was very much mistaken. It made me aware of how many recyclable items I was throwing in the regular trash. So, this is good for me and the planet, win win scenario.

Reliable and quiet operation. Really like the way it senses when you are there, so it doesn't close in the middle of you doing something; yet doesn't open everytime yoi walk by. The voice commands are great.
