Needs update

Multi review on this can. Construction of cans appears to be very high. Customer Service is impeccable. The flaws come with electronics. Voice control sucks. It is not programable, so only one phrase works. However it seems to have ghost electronics, it opens in unexpected times, not sure why. One sensor or motor failed, can stayed in open position, and I got a new one immediately. 3 star is due to this being an electronic can and its the electronics that seem to be failing.

Our voice and motion sensor can is designed to open when you say "open can" or when something within 6" to 8" passes over the sensor. Conversational phrases and especially background noise from TV's or other devices are similar to the command and their sound waves may trigger the can and open it. This is totally normal and will not negatively effect or wear out the can.

This is so nice. Having recycle and garbage in one is first, awesome. I love the motion sensor and use the voice activation. It's just great. Clean. Functional. Pulling the bag from the back is nice.

Sadly UPS decided to play their " smash that box " game and our first unit arrived badly damaged. 1 quick call to Customer Service and they had another one on its way quickly and arranged the pick up of the defective unit. Simply stated I wish the unit was bigger and had the option of a rechargeable battery that replaced the unneeded use of C Batteries. The AC unit for use would be great however our location does not have an outlet close by.

Thanks for your review! We're glad to hear we were able to get your replacement can out to you quickly to resolve the issue. Also, when in a convenient location, the AC adapter is a great alternative to the AA batteries that are required for this type of can.

Like the can. Auto operation is nice. Voice control is cool. But likes to open on its own randomly. I'm guessing it thinks it hears something, but most of the time, so one is talking. I'm on my second can. Both did this. So, get it, but don't use batteries cuz it will suck them dry.

Fun and functional

This trash can will spoil YOU. The custom fit liners are very sturdy. They are dispensed out of the inside of the can, which is a great feature. The recycling bucket fits a surprising amount before it needs to be emptied. The motion detection works as advertised. The voice activation works well but I get occasional false positives (it opens when i say random things, not just "open can"). Not a huge loss since it also closes on its own after a few seconds.

We've gone through all the troubleshooting steps multiple times and doesn't matter. Moved from batteries to plugin making no differenece
