Do not buy

I bought this to replace a simplehuman trash can that doesn’t have the talk open feature. The trash can does not have a plastic liner, making it impossible to deal with a bag that fell down. Don’t buy this. It opens randomly and we have a puppy. Any noise opens the can.

I loved the idea, functionality, and look of this trashcan. Unfortuntely, I found out the hard way that if a dog walks past the trashcan, the smart trashcan kindly automatically opens to offer a delectable meal. This trashcan now lives in my garage and does not get used which is sad for how much it costs. Perfect smart trashcan for NON-PET families but alas not ideal for pet owners.

It’s a Gorgeous Design. It’s a bit pricey but compared to other cans it’s on point. I just find all garbage cans a bit pricey. I am only giving it a 4 because the voice command is not perfect. Sometimes I ask “Open Can” and it won’t open. I wave my hand and it will open and seems to reset its voice command because then it will start opening again when we say “Open Can”

I wanted something that would help me recycle more than I was because I’m in an apartment building, they don’t force it, so I forced it upon myself. Little pricey but Simple Human makes quality products.

I love the two bins!

We live out in the country with no trash pick-up, and we burn just about anything we can for compost reasons. It’s great to have a second bin to sort the non-burn trash so I can take it to the dump about once a week.
