We love everything about this container, including the modern design and color. This is a replacement for an earlier version of the same model that stopped opening. simplehuman honored the warranty and shipped out this replacement promptly. You can't beat that service.

Cool but not life changing

The can opens on it's own (my friend says it's haunted), which is slightly unnerving. Additionally, the AC adapter was missing for ours, and it burned through batteries in less than 2 days. I really want to love it, but it's not meeting expectation right now.

My wife has leg problems. She could no longer push down on the pedal to the regular 58 litre trash can we owned. Voila! Here is one that responds to her voice or just passing her hand in front. No feet required.

It does not work. For all the money we spent on this, not worth it. The first one came damaged and the second has defects. Does not open on command. Sometimes it opens for a second. No sensor to prevent it from closing on your hands.

Beautifully efficient

Works as advertised. Except for a few false alarms (opens when saying some random things) it's fine. We have ours on house power so we don't use batteries. It has has stood up to two invasions by the dog who managed to upend and get access and make a mess, but not damage the can. Fun to use and efficient. Looks great in the kitchen. Space efficient.

2nd time is a charm

This unit replaced our first one, which was purchased just over a year ago, and only recently the lid started rapidly closing immediately after opening about 50% of the time. Talked to the help desk and they arrange a replacement and return for the old one promptly without any issues. The new one works better than the old (seems they've modified the motion sensor search pattern a little) and we couldn't be happier. It's still the nicest dual can on the market, a bit overkill you could say, but from the first time my wife called out "open bin" (it works with "open bin" btw simplehuman, should you have any prospective British customers..,) she was sold. We have several other simplehuman products and they've always either been top notch out of the box, or promptly replaced under warranty when not. We appreciate the excellent customer service. Thanks!
