Fascinating

Nice container and it fit well in the planned space. It works well enough, actually too well. The lid continually activates while we are watching television in an adjacent room. I hope the warranty will replace the motor when it dies.

Our voice and motion sensor can is designed to open when you say "open can" or when something within 6" to 8" passes over the sensor. Conversational phrases and especially background noise from TV's or other devices are similar to the command and their sound waves may trigger the can and open it. This is totally normal and will not negatively effect or wear out the can.

I love the product because of its handiness. This is my third one. Unfortunately the first one failed during warranty. The second failed within days. My newest is working fine. Let's hope it continues.

Great Warranty Service

My unit was approximately 2 years old and quit operating. I contacted simplehuman and was able to successfully file a warranty claim. I now have a brand new one and time left on my warranty.

I love this trash can.

I absolutely love this trash can. It was a little hard for me to convince my husband that it’s worth that kind of money, but the 5 year warranty did the trick. If you’ve ever owned a sensor trash can you know that it will eventually go out. So this is why this warranty is so great! I can say “open can” and the lid will rise so i don’t have to get things dirty if my hands are full. It’s the perfect size for trash and recycling needs.

Great Idea: But!

I really love the automation, both verbal and sensor. But, when I am talking in the kitchen no where near the garbage can, it will open and close like it is joining the conversation.

Super Cool....but sensitive

Love this new trash can. Love the dual compartment. Kids love that it opens when they say "open can." However, the can lid opens on its own every now and then.....not sure why.
