Love the look - but could be more user friendly

Overall fan does the job. The fan control switch is hard to turn if you have large fingers and can br hard to reach if your arms are short. The removable grease filters are difficult to remove for cleaning. This is my second GE downdraft and I’m surprised the functional design isn’t better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor built quality and delivered with faulty telescopic downdraft switch. Unit will not stop downdraft operation

Downdraft

Same design as the 20 yr old one we replaced. We went with it since we don't use it that often, was less expensive, and the fan didn't telescope as high as others. That said, probably a mistake. Looks cheap next to our Monogram cooktop and doesn't mount flush. Poor manufacturing with hardly a straight edge to it.

Poor manufacturing quality control

Poor design and manufacturing. We’re on the third unit and this one still isn’t right either. Issues are not with performance, but rather “fit and finish”. Poor design of how the unit covers the hole in the countertop.

Tech ordered and it doesn’t fit. Called GE and after 4 hours on the phone…. NOTHING Someone was supposed to contact me to coordinate pick up and credit. Finally recd an email saying I have to call again. Absolutely rediculous .
