Pleased at the ease of use

So far, great. Have only tailored one pair of pants and the machine was easy to use. I need basic, and this is so much more. Love the platform - makes it like a set-in machine. Replaced a 40 year old Singer.

I have only one complaint about my new sewing machine. I have arthritis in my hands and it is very difficult to thread machine especially the #6 before you thread the needle and it is difficult to get the Bobbin in and out. The needle threader is a life saver. Otherwise I love my new machine. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a great sewing machine. My last sewing machine was a Brother CS6000. I retired it after 10 years but I am keeping it as a back up. Thank you for making great sewing machines.

Too light

It is real nice. Only complaint I have is it’s too light. If I lean on it just a bit it tips. If I had known they still made metal machines I would have bought one. The all plastic are just way too light. Picking it up is great but the metal heavier ones are better.

It's fantastic!

This is my first computerized machine and I am in love! It's so cool to be able to move the needle position and it's so easy to use. I love how I can see my bobbin also. I am extremely happy over moving the needle. Lately I have been doing a lot of shirring. Because I am able to move the needle, I can do my shirring evenly without having to mark the lines. It's amazing to now how a machine that can do everything that I needed 2 machines for.

Great but: No hemmer foot? Guide incomplete?

I really love this thing. I adapted to the cabinet from the Singer 832K I was using. That thing was my mom's and I'm 74! Yet I gave this 4 stars and not 5 for 2 reasons:
1) There does appear to be a hemmer foot available for it. I asked on the site about the SA127 and the reply was no, that is not compatible. I then asked what was compatible and received no answer. Apparently the SA164 is not compatible either. Are there others? I can't find way to filter for hemmer feet on Brother web site.
2) The other day I loaded up a new thread and when I started a straight stitch--what a mess on the underside! I re-strung the thread being more careful and that corrected it, but I am not sure why. I think it has to do with the way it goes through the tensioner. There is a little guide that the thread needs to be in front of, apparently, but the instructions do not specify that.

Not fond of sewing

I never was fond of sewing but my new CP100X has changed that. . She is quiet and I do not need to use a foot pedal - how wonderful is that! I have woven so many projects that I wanted to finish but my old machine kept jamming so nothing has been finished. Two weeks after buying my JOY (cp100x) I now have many of those handmade woven projects done. I was able to sew long woven bands together and make bags within an hour using the zigzag stitch by pushing 1 button! I can't find the stitches on the bag -so fine -so precise. I love my newly named cp100x - a JOY to use.

Fantastic machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was beginning to think I would never get the hang of sewing, but it turns out I was using an inferior machine! Since receiving this Brother CPX100X my projects have been coming out so much better. My husband is actually much better at sewing than I am and I usually leave big projects to him, but I really think I am ready to tackle a quilt with this machine! It's been my goal for years to get comfortable enough to make a quilt, and with the larger work space, and 10 different feet, and 100 stitches, I really think this is the perfect machine to help me reach that goal.
As I said, my husband is much more experienced than I am sewing, and he absolutely loves it. He is able to whip out masks in no time, with half the frustration of our old sewing machine. I have even been able to make a couple with no issues! The needle threader is literally one step and works every time. Neither of us have noticed any tension issues, and the stitches look beautiful every time. I have had so much fun playing with all of the different stitches and it has been great practice. I had no idea there were so many different feet like buttonhole, zipper, monogramming, overcasting, blind hole, etc. I have so much to learn and am actually excited about it now instead of overwhelmed and frustrated with my old sewing machine. I love that it comes with a protective case as well. I really feel like the sky is the limit now that I have something reliable to create with!
