Works well, just note that the batter will run out

This is a good saw and safe to use. However the battery will run out after about 40 to 50 cuts on ~2" limbs. This is OK if you are a homeowner and want to trim a few limbs. But if you need to take it away from a power source where ups cannot recharge the battery know your limitations. I definitely recommend this saw.

BEWARE. THIS GREENWORKS PRODUCT IS A PIECE OF JUNK. I'VE HAD TWO OF THESE NOW AND THE HEDGE TRIMMER HAS BROKE BOTH TIMES AND NOW THEY WILL NOT COVER IT. I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED AND SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR AND THEY SAID NOBODY'S AVAILABLE UNTIL NEXT WEEK. I HAVE OTHER GREEN WORKS PRODUCTS THAT ARE GOOD BUT THIS IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF GARBAGE THAT I'VE EVER OWNED. NOW THEY WON'T COVER IT. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. TRUST ME THE HASSLE YOU GOT TO GO THROUGH JUST EVEN TO TALK TO SOMEBODY IS UNBELIEVABLE

My first use was to take to one of our rental houses to do some trimming. Great for that because I don't have to bother renters with plugging in, or making a lot of noise. Quiet, only runs when you need it to. Lightweight and well made, it seems. Great complement to my Greenworks chainsaw and hedge trimmer.

Decent power and extension, long battery life run

I have several oak trees which need pruning periodically. I had a Black and Decker pole saw with the old (non lithium) batteries. Short run time, declining power. After a few years of use, the batteries died. This saw is a clear improvement. Far better and more consistent level power. Good cutting of branches up to about 8 inches diameter. The angle of the saw is definitely an advantage over the B&D. Thus far I cannot find any weaknesses, particularly for this price point. Although not a commercial tool, it certainly is a very good and practical homeowner which can save me (and you) many hundreds of dollars in pruning costs.

Great for cutting shooting lanes in woods!

I am an avid deer hunter & have clear shooting lanes for my arrows & bullets to travel through is a must. I used to haul hand & gas-powered pole saws into the woods. Hand saws didn't leave any scent but don't cut large limbs well. Gas saws leave petroleum smells in the woods that deer hate. I bought this saw & use canola oil for lubricating the chain & both of these problems are solved. I've got an extra small battery from my grass trimmer & a large one from my chainsaw so I can trim for a long time. Great product!

I have a variety of trees and found myself on a ladder with a heavy chainsaw, not a particularly good idea. This pole saw fits my needs just right. It feels solid, easy to put together, just charge the battery, add some bar oil and go. I suppose if you are doing commercial work you may want a more expensive pole saw with heavier duty battery, yet for most of us, this fits just fine.

Bought the pole saw to help around the house. I'm a 62 year old female and I found that operating the pole saw is so much easier than the gas chainsaws I previously owned. Greenworks ALWAYS starts. Gas doesn't and it will tire you out pretty quickly if it doesn't want to cooperate. Turned around and purchased the string trimmer. It will be nice to eliminate all my gas tools, which I intend to do. I chose the 40 volt due to the tools available. It does the job on my 1/2 acre.

I have owned the pole saw for over a year now

The price was very competitive. I prefer reviews where the owner has had the item for a while, this is why I waited to review. The 8 inch blade cuts beyond its sized. I have cut thru 10" brazillian peppers. I take care of my saw and keep it oiled and clean, but I work it hard or it wears me out first which ever comes first. It is amazing fro cutting heavy brush and weed trees built up over ravines and in high places. I can't say enough about how much I like it. It even doubles for a brush cutter/weed eater for small weed trees growing in the grass.
