Chain Won't Stay On

So far, I have spent more time putting the chain back on than I have using the saw. Very annoying!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry to hear that the unit is performing to your expectations. Chains stretch with use. When new, they stretch more. The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. This is normal stretching. Tension techniques can be found in the owner's manual. This Pole Saw does a great job for around the property. Has more then enough power to cut down arm sized trees. Have not used long enough to kill a battery yet. Come the fall and we will see.

This thing is awesome for small jobs around the property and is pretty light for its size. I love that it’s so easy to maintain and don’t have to worry about a gas engine.

I have used both the hedge trimmer (for a TALL laurel hedge) and the pole saw (to clean up a large maple) I'm very happy with the performance of both. Though the power is not exactly the same as my plug-in hedge trimmer, the cordless convenience means I'll definitely be using it more frequently--before it's such a forestry harvest .

ok but not as good as others

two years sin and using this about 10 times, I can say that it is a nice hefty unit but the design leaves a lot to be desired. The automatic oiler applies far too much oil to bar and chain so that it visibly spews oil off the soaked chain when cutting. the plastic cover and screw come loose easily and thus so does the chain. I have to tighten it every 5 minutes of cutting! Finally, nthe translucent oil tank is so small a slit that you cannot get a clear view of oil level - unless maybe your oil is black.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

being a 5'4" lady, was concerned with my ability to handle this tool. I've used only a couple times but managed to trim a "wall" of vegetation along our property line with minimal breaks. And the battery didn't lose much of its charge. (one light drop on the gauge) Strap helps stabilize the pole when both sections are in use. very satisfied with this 40v pole saw/hedge trimmer
