Lots of power and endurance, but it takes too long to charge the battery, and the chain falls off every time I use it. And yes, I keep the chain tight.

Hello Goon,
We are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing, there could possibly be some wood jammed in the chain. Remove the battery as you check the chain for any blockages. If nothing is blocking the chain, make sure your chain tensioning knob is properly engaged. If that pin on the threaded tensioning shaft is correctly positioned in the bar, then it should tension fine. Please note, this chain saw comes standard with a three-year warranty. This is more than double the industry standard and adds to your peace of mind. When you purchase this chainsaw, you can be comfortable in the knowledge that it will either keep working effectively for the duration of its warranty, or you’ll be able to get it fixed by the Greenworks at minimal cost to yourself. We can provide guided instructions on how to tighten the chain by simply calling into the call center at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

No more pull cords!!!

The 40v chainsaw cuts like a champ, and the 4.0 battery lasts a long time. I love the push button start. I had a tree fall close to my barn, it was over 12 inches at the base, the saw made short work of it. Another great Greenworks product.

I’ve had my greenwowrks chain saw for only maybe 7 months and used it a serious handful of times. Today after using it to cut a Few small trees it started beeping after only maybe 20 minutes of work red light battery low. Seemed odd as I had charged it completely just prior to using …put it on the charger and it won’t charge - blinking red light… annoyed since it’s been a serious only few times used and now the battery is not working …that’s a huge expense to buy another battery esp if they only last for a half dozen times used

Hello Karen274,
Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear about this experience! We understand how this can be frustrating. If the status LED light on your charger blinks red, remove the battery from the charger for 1 minute, then reinsert. If the status LED blinks green, then the battery is properly charging.
However, if the status LED is continuing to flash red, remove the battery and unplug the charger for 1 minute. After 1 minute, plug in the charger and reinsert the battery. If the status LED blinks green, then the battery is properly charging. If the status LED is still blinking red, then this likely indicates an issue with the battery or charger and should be taken care of either with our warranty team or by means of replacement. Please kindly reach out to our team at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

Only issue is lack of battery life. Previous model had a much larger and longer lasting battery

Terrible Line Feeder

The bump feed gets stuck routinely and the strength of the tool is fairly weak. I gave it one season to win me over, but it never did. I will be purchasing a new trimmer next year.

Hello JLH4119,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this product. We are concerned to read that you are feeling let down and that the unit has not fully met your expectations. Bump feed getting stuck, check that the guard is cleared of debris. Build up debris on the underside of the guard may prevent the line from cutting at its full potential. Ensure the cutting blade located on the underside of the guard is exposed, clean and clear of debris. If the blade is dull sharpen or replace the cutting blade. This will allow your trimmer line to work more effectively. We hope this tip helps! If you would like us to support you before you make the decision to return it, please get in touch with us directly at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). We look forward to hearing from you.

Smooth as silk, powerful as a lion. I’ll never purchase a gas powered chainsaw again. User tip: purchase 2 x 4AHr batteries if you have serious clean up to do!

Lightweight, well balanced, works great for small jobs. I bought this to handle some 5-8" trees around my house and some branch clean up for properties I work on. So far the Greenworks 16" chainsaw did the trick. I only had to purchase chainsaw oil and charge the battery, then I was ready to go.
