Plenty of Power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to replace a corded saw that I have had for ages. I had gone electric because of the many problems with small gas engines. This tool has brought back the freedom of movement along with many features, like soft start, instant chain brake and oh yea, lots of power!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to use, and the battery lasted long enough to take out a 30 foot tree.

Great tool and quiet!

I bought this tool after a major storm rolled through to help with cleanup. I cut enough wood to pile a face cord and I think I only charged the battery twice. The best part was my neighbors didn't know I was doing anything because they didn't hear anything.

When pulling the trigger, the saw chain begins slowly. Apparently a safety feature. Any pressure applied making cuts into, say, a 12 inch diameter log will stall the chain. You need to baby it. Don't discard your gas chainsaw.

Hello Rockpocket,
Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate to hear that you are not completely satisfied with this saw. Our 40V line is designed for light to medium-duty jobs. If you're looking for a product more comparable to the power of gas, we would recommend taking a look at our 80V line of tools; we do not think you'll be disappointed.

Pretty good when the line extends. It doesn't come out when bumped and sometimes gets lost inside resulting in disassembly.
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenWorks Customercare, GreenWorksTools , August 11, 2021
Hello bmbfan,
I am sorry to hear about your experience. Please be advised only 1/4 inch of trimmer line is extended when you bump the head. Trimmer line tends to break off when the trimmer line makes contact with hard surface areas. Therefore more line is required. If the line gets too short it does roll back into the trimmer head. The trimmer line should be 2-3 inches out of the trimmer head while in operation.
We advise extending the line prior to use and keeping an eye on trimmer line when the unit is in use so it does not get too short.
If issues continue and you wish for further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-888-909-6757 or by email to info@greenworkstools.com. We're happy to help.

Greenworks 40v chainsaw model csf403

Bought this chainsaw last labor day, have used it 5 or 6 times. Now after pulling both triggers to engage the saw it will shut off after about 15 to 20 seconds, have to pull the trigger again to get it going again. Now this is all it will do. Work for 15 to 20 seconds then shut off. Called greenworks customer service, they cant do anything for me being that i have used an after market battery. Love the way they stand behind their products. Wont buy another greenworks product.

I've been using this chainsaw for the past 2 years. It works well. My one complaint would be that the battery needs to be charged frequently if you have lots of trees or limbs to cut.
