Great for non-motivational riders

I got my M2 last summer in August of 2019. Really started riding it around October/Nov 2-3 times a week. I had 3 support issues with it and had to get the RU replaced twice. Which caused me multiple weeks over the winter without a trainer. Very upsetting, but realized the level of expectation I wanted I need to move to a direct drive unit vs mag.
If you want a serious road/path trainer get a direct drive.
If you want a basic cruise /journey ride to stay loose and get some workout, then a M2 is for you!

I switched from a manual trainer to this smart trainer 9 months ago and still pleased with its performance. I do not use swift or any other apps and just set up my own work outs with my Garmin 830. I've read the comments of people having issues with L bolt bending so I am very careful not to over tighten . Cons....If you need to train with power meter I am not sure of the accuracy of of this unit. Seems to read much higher wattage than I can produce on the road and resistance does seem to change slightly during a 1 hour work out. But overall for the price I have no complaints .....

One week in and loving it!

I recently bought the M2 and started using it with Zwift a week ago. I found Zwift to be a much better option than Rouvy because it plays better with the Apple Watch heart sensor. The M2 was easy to set up, calibrate, and update the firmware with the Saris app. While it is rainy and dreary in Pittsburgh, it is great to still ride indoors!

Haven't had a turbo/trainer in 12+ years, have only been riding rollers when I have to. Last turbo I owned was a Saris Fluid 2, loved/hated that thing. It was an amazing tool to gain fitness. Finally decided to get a "smart" trainer, but not for Zwift or for virtual training, I purchased this so that I could control it with my Garmin head unit. I can do the Free Ride or build workouts in Garmin Connect. Took about two seconds to pair my Garmin and off I went. Too easy. If you want a virtual world virtual ride spend more for a virtual machine, but if you are looking to do traditional trainer workouts this is the perfect setup. I hate trainer workouts, but I am actually looking forward to using my new M2.

Best All Round Option

The M2 is my latest Saris trainer. Like the others it is rock solid.
1) easy set up and adjustment. Also easy storage and transport.
2) While 'wheel off' models have advantages, those come at a price. Having a solid investment background I do not think that most riders actually benefit from those advantages leaving us paying for features that do not yield us results. High performance racers are excluded from this point.
3) the M2 is quiet enough to not awaken my light sleeper wife during my early morning training rides
4) Previous Saris trainers have held up for years in spite of me trying to wear them out during my frequent 3-5 hour sessions. I expect this unit will as well.

Great Trainer, Average to Poor Instructions

I bought this about a month ago. Bike is a Trek Madone. Assembly was relatively easy, but, tolerances on assembly were average. Do not tight the roller until the resistance knob clicks!! This is way too tight and will shred you tire as well as make the pedaling much harder than real road riding. Tighten it until braking during spinning does not cause the flywheel to spin independently of the tire. The trainer itself is great. Noisier than the 1UP USA trainer it replaced but I can hear the Stereo or TV without excessive volume adjustment. Would give it a 5 star except for the grossly incorrect instructions on roller tightening adjustment.

M2...so far so good!

So far so good....as I've only been using it for a week. I did a lot of research on which trainer worked the best when it came time for a seamless connection to the apps I wanted to use which are Zwift and Rouvy. The M2 had all of the sensors I needed onboard which was very helpful. Zwift and Rouvy recognized the trainer, though by its old name, Magnus. Would be nice if these apps would recognize the M2 by its name in their trainer selection, but I'm guessing it's because the M2 is still new. I'm using an HP elite book (Windows 10) and a Samsung Galaxy S9+ for the Zwift companion app. Both have been working quite well even though the Android Zwift install is still in beta. Rouvy on the other hand, isn't connecting to the trainer via Windows (phone is fine) and I've ordered an ANT+ dongle to see if this will do the trick. After a few rides, everything is working well. The only thing I've noticed is that with either app, there's often some slipping/stuttering of the wheel on the trainer during certain portions of the ride. I'm assuming this is because I may not have enough fly-wheel pressure on the tire, but not 100% sure. Still doing some experimenting. Will update this review in a few months. Zwift riding has been a blast and elevation changes/resistance changes happen in real time - very little latency.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy to Use, Increases Endurance
Cons: Connecting sensors to apps involves research, Missing bag of parts that had to be shipped out
