Perfect Size

If you don't have any pieces of cast iron yet this is a great one to start your collection with.
The size is perfect for soups, stews, braises and even bread.
Big enough to cook for 8 but will also perform just as well with smaller quanities.
Staub cast iron cocottes are built to last a life time and this size is just right for a growing family.

great size, great Dutch oven

This cocotte is the perfect size for a family of 4, looking for some leftovers. this enameled dutch oven gets a lot of use at my house, especially during the winter. I love tht it is enameled on the bottom too, don't need to worry about scratching my glass stove top.

Traditional looking, staub quality

I love this cocotte because it gives me the look of a traditional cast iron, but with the qualty that Staub produces. It browns perfectly and the lid is great for keeping my food moist. I bring this cocotte camping and it does it all, and so easy to clean!

I absolutely love this pot! I have the matte black pot and I love how it looks like a normal cast iron pot, but is enameled so that I don't have to take special care of it. I also bought the Staub cookbook and I have been working my way through it. My favorite thing so far is the no-knead bread and I never knew that you can make bread in a pot!

Looks like an old-time cast iron piece yet has protective enamel both inside and out. Makes for easy clean up and consistent heat. Nice gold knob.

I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste the dish all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though!

This cocotte does a great job browning and searing. Even though it isn't non-stick, I find it very easy to clean. It can be used on top of the stove or in the oven; you can even bake a great boule' in the cocotte. It's the perfect size for everyday cooking of soups, stews, chilis and meat and chicken.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this on a whim b/c I wanted something to use to bake bread. It is wonderful. I use it several times a week to make bread and various other things. It's wonderful.
