beautiful and functional

I am crazy about this new French essential shape from staub. It still works just like the classic cocotte but with a slightly softer look. The enamel cast iron give me great cooking results, even browning and easy clean up. The fact that it does not require seasoning is a big plus for me. The rooster design on the lid is a real statement piece.I actually keep this pot on my stove as part of my French rooster decor as well as using it regularly.

Received this pan for Mother's Day cause I am a big fan of anything rooster, This pan not only looks great but has quickly become my everything pan. Great for a family of 4. Use for soups, grains, oatmeal, and puddings. The pan also goes into the oven which is a great bonus when I braise a small roast. Just ordered the rooster knob from your sight which will look great on the pan in my kitchen!

Beautiful French Oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So beautiful that I leave on top of my stove. This has become my go-to pot as its just the right size, especially for making risotto. Washes easily and seems quite sturdy although I am careful with it.

Roosters rock!

I enjoy cooking in cast iron but several pieces are simply too heavy. This one is not. I think because the lid is lighter the entire piece is lighter. Plus it still has self-basting spikes under the lid, just in a different shape. I have roosters in my kitchen so this is a great addition. The carved detail adds so much. Thanks Staub!

Purchased for friend that has an affinity for roosters. She not only loves the design on the top of lid, but the basting feature on the underside for more tender, moist, and flavorful recipes. Ideal size for someone that shys away from the weight of cast iron dutch ovens.

This innovative and beautiful French oven makes for a stunning cooking vessel and decorative piece in the kitchen. The unique rooster design on the lid reveals the signature Staub self-basting spikes beneath when lifted. The enameled cast iron coating is ideal for browning and searing, but works for any number of delicious recipes for 2-4 people.
