All in one and all for me

I don't have much space in my kitchen so when I purchase items i look for two things, low profile and high quality. This set gives me all my essentials. The chefs knife does most of the work. The curved front gives me speed and accuracy. The curved bolster on all of the knives gives me the comfort im looking for. The serrated knife makes quick work of my bagels and tomatoes and the pairing knife handles all my small jobs. Quality set from a quality company.

All I Need

Live in a small studio so I don't have much kitchen space. This starter set takes care of all my kitchen needs. It comes with an 8" Chef knife for the bulk of my jobs, a 5" utility for slicing onion, tomato, melon, pineapple and even rolls, bagels and breads.
The curved bolster is so comfortable, and it also permits me to sharpen the blade without any interference. The blade is also curved which really makes chopping, mincing and dicing so much easier.
I love the fact they are made with German, high carbon still, which is the gold star standard for knives. The one piece construction makes it very durable, and the full tang allows for a nice weight which assists in cutting jobs. The bonus is that these knives have a lifetime guarantee.
I did need to purchase a honing steel to complete the set. But it is necessary to maintain the edge.

Great set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find this starter set to be just right. I have always wanted to upgrade my knives from a miscellaneous assortment in my drawer. This set now sits on the counter in a block and is used quite often. The chef's knife feels just right in my hand and slices through just about everything easily. I keep finding new uses for the serrated utility knife too.
