Micro-serrated edge is a con on most of the knives

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Steak knives and bread knife are very nice. The santoku is also pretty useful. The micro-serration is a problem on the others as they catch little bits of meat when working with chef's knife or utility. Same if you're using paring to do fine bits of cleaning. You can't use unless you're going to do a it of a "saw" motion it seems. Tried many different cutting approaches and can't get what I need as whatever is tried ends up being more of the knife tearing instead of cutting. I really like the handles and steak knives plus bread knife, but others seem useless, so only using half the set. Think I may return, but it's such as pain since they were shipped. I'd note that I was offered something free to leave a review and I think that may be why there are so many generic and positive reviews about this set. Can't recommend this set, but think the traditional edge ones are good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
