I bought this laptop for video editing and everything else. ThinkPad solid build quality combined with those fast hardwares are amazing. much better than Dell XPS I have used before. like it very much !

I had 2 laptops both were HP, I was tired of the BIOS failing or other issues for the last 2 or 3 years. So i started looking a replacement- I looked at all the different brands. Not seriously at Apple but reviewed. Then I committed to Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3. I worked with a ThinkPad about 15 years ago, so I was familiar with the name brand. It was quite expensive but at my age, I feel if buy a laptop it will be my last one. It took 4 weeks from order date to delivery, and I must say it was tracked from order to delivery. When I received the laptop and unpackaged it, I was pleased with its secure heft, lightness, aesthetic looks. Very exciting. Then plugged it in and it
more or less, set itself up with a few fill-ins by me. I am continually impressed with the Extreme. I only use it for reading, playing, listening to books, reading the news. I know- batting way below it's capacity. I had one problem with a sim card read. But if in doubt - turn it off - once or twice and it will fixed itself. I look at other laptops and continuously make comparisons, about build and layout, hookups( HDMI, audio, USB, Thunderbolt, photo card, sim card.

Fan can get a little noisy, but that's the GPU. The chasis doesnt get too warm. Feels solid and worth it's value. (Don't tell my boss, but I can play Warzone on it, and it runs decently well when connected via LAN). Don't forget your dongles tho! I'm having trouble with ghosting boxes or boxes that are transparent - but I think that's a software thing and if I put the time into figuring it out, I'm sure I can resolve it.

Durable laptop. The cat spilled water on it and it wouldn't turn on. My friend took it apart and built it back and cleaned it. It's very well engineered with it's safeties. It shut itself down to avoid water damage. Sound is great, love the speakers. Not as heavy I thought it would be.
