Trouble connecting app to wifi and remote

I could not connect device/vacuum to app on TCL 30v android phone. However, noticed many reviews about the app stating people had the same issue. I didn't feel comfortable using the manual option on the app to sign into your wifi with your wifi password, so I am not sure if the device would of connected using that option. The remote did not work with device despite changing batteries. So, I resorted to testing it the first time by manually turning it on (also forgot the on/off switch on the bottom of vacuum for a little bit) hitting the power button and letting the vacuum just do random stuff, no pattern or anything to it. It cleaned ok. I could attempt increasing the suction more like it says in manual, to see if it does a better job the next time. I did need to clean the brush off of dog hair after the first use, which may have affected the suction too. It did have some hangups on a couple items, like a sheet on floor, shopping bag and door draft stopper handles, plus a couple other random items I didn't catch/move before the robo vac made it's journey. But those items pulled out a lot easier than a regular powered vacuum.
