Great bass, strange treble

I got this unit with a crazy discount code from CNET. I wouldn't recommend this headset for more than $30, which is the price of Apple's headset.
I use these headsets for running. I play house music when I run, so good bass is critical. The bass is every bit as good as what I used to get with the Beats headset that I killed after 3 years of abuse. The treble response, however, was weird. It was either too muffled or over the top. It wasn't bad, but I expected better, and I might get it by playing with the equalizer on the iPhone, but I'd rather not.
What I hated about the Beats headset was that the earpieces kept popping out of my ear while I was running. The H/K ones stayed put much better.
This H/K is also far sturdier than the old Beats set that I had. The plastic is much stiffer, and there is a lot of reinforcement in the contact areas that bend most. That's where my Beats set finally failed.
Still, the sound quality is marginally better than Apple's iPhone headset. Therefore, I can recommend this headset at about $20-$30. Search the web for coupon codes.

don't know why they are called noise cancelling. but they have nice quality sound. i bought them on sale, would never have spent full price on them. i say excellent value only for the sale price.

Solid pair of headphones

I was expecting more from the price perspective. microphone and volume button will not work in any Android devices. Also, sound quality is not superior.

The build quality - cord, earbuds, mic and volume buttons - feels better than most other headphones. The cord is thicker. Good midrange and treble. Less bass than Klipsch S4i.
