Good bang for your buck.

Good for your first tv or if you have no real reference of uhd.
Definitely better than your old 1080p.
But, to me I just don't feel like it's bright enough at times. I've never had the brightness at max on any tv before, and this one has been on max since I opened it and is still really dark in dark scenes.
But, even then still watchable cause it's so huge.
So. Overall. 8/10.
10/10 if you are switching from 1080p.
4/10 though if you can afford to she'll out on a higher class model of Samsung, or wait until 8k goes live.

Audio glitch

trying to use native tv apps like youtube tv but audio doesn't pass through through onkyo home theater receiver using hdmi/arc, have to use separate roku device. have tried optical output and that doesn't work either. according to onkyo tech support, they have seen this issue before with samsung tvs.
this is a such a simple feature and it's so disappointing that a company like samsung cannot provide it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback regarding the issues you are experiencing with your TV’s audio. Please check whether Digital Output Audio Format is set to Pass-Through. If you select the Pass-Through option to use an AV receiver that does not support Dolby Digital+, no sound is output with Dolby Digital+ content.
It is recommended to set Digital Output Audio Format to Auto when the connected receiver supports only the limited audio formats. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Format > Auto

Avoid this TV

do not buy this tv.
there is an issue with horrible backlight bleed. i’ve seen many other reviewers complain about the same problem so it’s definitely a common thing. i returned the first tv i got, thinking that it was just defective. the second one that arrived had the same exact thing. you cannot watch dark scenes because there is a large block of discoloration compared to the rest of the screen. it ruins the viewing experience. i have always bought samsung tvs in the past, but this is an inferior and less quality product to my previous samsung from 2013. not sure if samsung is cutting corners, but i’ll be returning this and going with a different brand instead.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Backlight bleed along top

I really like this TV, but am returning it because of backlight bleed along the top during all dark scenes using any/all inputs. Issue was present out-of-the-box. Aside from this, the picture quality is great.
