Lack of brightness is a real problem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This TV is unusable for certain conditions. Unfortunately, there is not enough brightness to make the set useful for watching TV or playing dark video games. I believe Samsung knows this is an issue because the unit came with the Brightness level maxed out as a default. I'm exploring returning this unit because of this issue.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Q80A TV and for sharing details of your image quality. To optimize your picture quality, please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1805.4 which includes picture quality updates. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.

If the picture you are seeing is not to your liking after performing any necessary firmware updates, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.

You can select the Picture Mode that provides the best viewing experience. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

Intelligent Mode also enables the TV to recognize and analyze the surroundings, noise, content, and your usage patterns to provide the best viewing experience. You can enable Intelligent Mode by going to Home > Settings > General > Intelligent Mode Settings. Adaptive Picture, which is among the options, optimizes brightness and provides the best picture quality in real time, based on the lighting condition and the content you're viewing.

Amazing quality, menus, integration, and more

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly so happy with this TV. I was concerned that spending so much on a TV would be unnecessary, but it is genuinely worth every penny. Samsung has really gone above and beyond, thinking about every detail. The remote being solar charged is awesome. The menu and integration with all your streaming services is seamless. The Samsung TV channels are actually really solid - I watch NBC News daily and it’s great. The QLED picture quality is truly unrivaled. The picture is so clear and has amazing contrast at all hours of the day. Finally, think about how far you’ll be away from your TV. I was between the 65” and 55” TVs - the 55” ended up being better for my NYC studio apartment and I am SO happy with this purchase.

Great visual depth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having used a regular 4K LED bedroom tv, I wanted to upgrade to a larger home theater experience and the QLED more than impressed. The regular 4K set was sharp and clear but little depth like a computer screen. QLED offers a brighter deeper more cinematic look which served 4K movies and video games running at higher 120fps beautifully. I only wish I could afford an 80inch one next tine.
