Great Speaker

The JBL Flip5 is a very good speaker. This item was given to me as a gift, so I decided to give it a try. Now When I looked at this speaker, I thought to myself this little speaker is not going to be putting out any good sound. I was so wrong. It put out very good sound quality. You can even hear some of the base in some of the music. That was very impressive. There is a feature on the speaker I didn't explore because I don't have a second one. You can pair the two and you can use one as the left speaker and one as the right speaker. I wish I did have two, but one is plenty. For example, I had a Halloween party and it was outside. No one really had a radio or any sound system setup for music. I had my Pandora on my phone and my Flip5 in the car. I put it on the table and hooked my phone to it by Bluetooth. Fired up my Pandora and we had a party. I didn't have it halfway up on the volume and you can hear the music inside the house. You don't have to be at your phone to pause the music. On the speaker you have a pause button and a volume buttons for quick access. Also it comes with a cable to charge your speaker, but no brick to plug it into a wall outlet. If you have a computer or another device you can plug your USB cable into, you can charge it that way. When you first get it, it is half charge. My recommendation is just charge it all the way before you use it. Without using the speaker I noticed the charge will last beyond 2 weeks. I used this speaker for about good 4 hours and it didn't drain the battery much. Also the speaker is waterproof. If you have it near any water source, you will be okay. At the party, someone had some drinks and it spilled on it. It was fine. All I did was wipe it and it was good to go. Overall it is a very good speaker. If you need something that has good sound quality, this is the one. I have used many Bluetooth speakers in the past and this surpassed them all. If I had to get another Bluetooth speaker, this would be the one

Print and cracking noise

Speaker sounds like it’ll blow out at medium volume, makes cracks and popping noises, print is wearing off

Don't even know where to begin

I purchased my first JBL Flip 5 black TL a while back. Had no complaints, loved it. One day it decides not to turn on and that was the end for that. So I decide to purchase a JBL Flip 5 white CS speaker. Not as great sounding and so I'm returning it. Then I purchase a JBL Flip 5 pink GG and it works for a few hours and dies on me like the black TL. Number 1, why would JBL make different versions of the same model affecting sound quality and durability which can be clearly heard and seen and Number 2, why have 2 out of 3 JBL Flip 5's died on me. I demand an explanation and a refund. I used to love JBL and now they are giving me reasons to not purchase any of their products again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good speaker but cnet tricked me

I had the Clip 2 and wanted to upgrade to a speaker with speaker phone capability. My friend has the flip 4 and I figured I'd get the 5 since it just came out. CNET review said this speaker had a mic to do phone calls. I just called support to find out it didn't. I feel like a fool and disappointed that they'd do away with this feature.

I hate what they are doing connect+ to partyboost!?! i can't connect any of my jbl speakers i hope that they make an update from connect+ to partyboost or ele id rather move to other brand companies if they are just gonna keep making new connect function every flip series
