I’ve always really liked the sound of my Flip5 but loving music I thought I would splurge on another speaker more than 4 times the price. Sometimes you just torment over which speaker is better when you’re doing a side by side test. In this case it was truly astonishing the difference between the two. In just the first few bars it was absolutely clear that the other speaker sounded boring and flat compared to the JBL. The JBL had much better, more lively sound than the other brand. With the Flip 5 you’ll hear the ring of the guitars and feel the wood vibrate on the intro to Maggie May and this is on a little bluetooth speaker.
Device has plenty of bass, on default settings too much in my opinion. If the bass boost is turned off, it has too little. Same kind of issue with volume control. The setting is not precise. The preset volume levels are almost always too quiet or too loud for the occasion.

For example, if it only happens on a certain album, you may want to adjust the EQ to reduce the bass a little bit while listening to that album. You can utilize the JBL Portable app to personalize the bass or the EQ settings to your preference. If it only happens when you use a specific streaming service or app, you might want to check with the service or app to improve the sonic quality. Next, if it appears to be completely random, try reducing the low-frequency settings in the EQ to find a happy medium so that a typical recording doesn't lose too much bass, but recordings with extreme bass are less excessive. dont use as computer speaker

works great if your using it for music if your using for a speaker for you computer there is a 1 second delay so you cant use it for a computer speaker its very annoying

It does have good features and had a good sound

I bought this a year ago and didn't use it a lot so the other day I got it out to use in yard to cook out had a full charge but would not play a sound tried the reset still not a sound so I don't know what happened while it sat in the closet on the shelf but it wasn't good and it never got wet or anything I don't know if I would recommend anyone buying this speaker

Thanks for your feedback. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help isolate the issue with your JBL Flip 5. If the feedback tone is not audible, proceed to perform a reset. If the feedback tone is audible, do the following. First, try connecting to a different source to see if it fixes the problem and to determine if the source device (Phone, iPad, Computer, etc) is the problem. Next, forget/unpair the speaker on your device, then perform manual pairing. Last is reset, turn on the speaker, then press and hold "Volume +" and "Play" for more than 3 seconds. The speaker will turn off, and reboot to factory default. You may need to 'forget' the speaker in Bluetooth settings on your phone/tablet in order to pair it again. Note: RESET will wipe all previous settings and pairings, so it will be necessary to pair your unit with your devices again. If the issue remains, please contact us.
