[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is so wonderful and easy to put together. Very easy instructions and the step by step app was great. The kids loves that it have sixteen (16) special effect beatbits included. The kids did all the building on there own, because it was easy with the step by step instructions included. This is a great toy for expressing yourself, with fun music and creativity. This is a great physical and digital play experience for the kids, helps them stay on the move with dancing. The app was just as easy to download and use with your device camera. Just scan the compatible LEGO mini figures and components for interactive features, like virtual music studio where you can create your own personal music videos. You can also mix and match the beatbit tiles bandmates to bring them to life and include them in your video. A really great product and excellent LEGO toy.

Fun and Interactive!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves LEGO’s and enjoys using her imagination to build and play with them. She recently received her Candy Mermaid Beatbox and just loves it. She starts off building her Mermaid and the stage and carrybox. Then she got her Ipad to connect to the app to bring her Mermaid to life. She felt like a “big girl” as she went around recording her Mermaid perform. This kept her busy for hours. The options were endless. This new interactive technology combined with the traditional LEGO building is just so much fun! We can’t wait to collect them all!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 7 year old daughter loves legos and the candy mermaid beatbox is no exception! You build the parts together then download the app to your phone or tablet. All you have to do is scan the code (which we did on her tablet) and the fun began. She loves it! I highly recommend this !

New idea!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product in exchange for my review. I was thrilled to receive Legos as I have always loved them. My 8 year old daughter was able to assemble everything totally on her own, so that part was fairly simple. The part where you connect and make the videos with your device was a bit more complicated and she required help for that. She has had so much fun bringing her bricks to life! We love Legos and its great that they are inventing new ways to play!

Good idea but app is terrible

This was a fun idea, however the app is pretty bad. Long loading screens and repetitive issues with the app not recognizing the mini figure, even after going thru all the trouble shooting. Best use for this is for moc's or in some other creative way, because it's original intent on being fun to use on the app is frustrating, time consuming, and will eat your battery charge. Without the app features, this is really overpriced for what you get.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Minifigures

Really love this theme. This the boxes are very cute and it is nice that they can be decorated. Think it would be great if Lego would have a kit with the boxes (like the cupcakes) could be decorated and a great way to display ones favorite minifig.
