Really Outstanding Laptop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are many good things to say about this laptop. First of all the display is excellent; it has very good saturation, crisp text and overall excellent brightness. I currently have it set on a value of 60 and this is quite bright. The initial set-up of the machine was super easy.
The combination of the fingerprint scanner and the power button is good. Since this laptop has the Intel evo certification it has been tested and must pass certain requirements to obtain that certification and it certainly does. From the time you touch that fingerprint/power button to useable Windows is seconds; it's really fast. It’s equally fast opening programs and working with them. On-screen displays pop up with different key combinations to let you know when you activate various functions such as Caps Lock, Keyboard Backlight, etc. Very nice.
There are reviews out there that mention the flex in the unit. Well, I don’t really notice any extreme flex, I can easily pick it up from either corner without any noticeable flex. In any case it is not creaky or noisy when you do pick it up from one side. Which brings me to weight; no computer this large (16”) should weigh this little! You mind plays tricks on you because you see this larger device on your desk and you anticipate it being heavy, but when you pick it up, well it is not heavy at all. In fact, the advertised weight of my MacBook Air (early 2015 13.3 inch) is 2.38lbs, this LG is only 2.62lbs; amazing.
The track pad is large and just slightly off-center to the left not; really noticeable, but a good placement to help avoid unintentional input from it when typing. It is very responsive to clicking and tracking as well as scrolling. I have had absolutely no issues with unregistered or extra clicks, it just works flawlessly. The keyboard has good size and feel to it with good travel and is backlit. You can adjust the level of backlighting via the Fn+F8 option, and you can even set a “time out” for the backlight to turn off vial the LG Control Center. There is also a numeric keypad on the deck.
The bundled LG Control Center makes it easy to see how things are set up on the computer and very easy to make changes from one central place. Definitely a good piece of extra software as is the LG Update Center which takes care of drivers and such that LG specifically installed that are not part of Windows Update.
I don’t doubt that the advertised battery life is achievable, but realistically I am getting about 14-16 hours from it. That is to be expected as I changed the default behavior of the display battery saver in the Intel Graphics control from level 6 (most conservative) to level 3. This gives me a good balance of display quality and battery life. Should I ever need to approach those higher battery numbers I would simply change that level back to 6. Also my normal activities do involve some battery draining actions, such as online games.
A far as upgrading well the memory is soldered to the system board so what you buy it with is fixed. There is however a second NVMe slot inside the unit that will accommodate another SSD should you ever want to add storage. Note that to take off the bottom cover you do have to remove the feet as they hide screws. Heat of the unit is not really a problem either; there are professional reviews out there that measure temperatures, but I can say this; is it as cool on the lap as my 2020 M1 MacBook Air? No. But it is no where near as warm as my Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
I have to mention the display again, because it is absolutely perfect. When you look at the image quality this display produces, you cannot say enough about it.
So if you are looking for a light and quick laptop with a large screen (16” 2560x1600) with excellent saturation and color reproduction, that is quiet and a pleasure to use…well, you found it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the LG Gram 16" about two months ago to replace a Lenovo Yoga. I have been very impressed with the screen quality, speed and lightness. My daughter, who has a MacBook Air with the M1 chip was very impressed.

My favorite laptop in 27 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a computer programmer I had a very specific set of needs (numeric keypad, lighted keys, main ports on left side, high resolution, etc.) and I have had a lot of great laptops over the years. This is my favorite so far, by far. It has great battery life, actually get 8 hours so I don't have to haul my power adapter all over projects with me. It's super lightweight which makes a huge difference when I travel. The ergonomics, button placements, port placement, venting and all kinds of little details show that the engineers really thought hard every little bit and it adds up to a great package. I haven't found a single thing I don't like about this laptop (ok, I wish it had better graphic performance so I could do some gaming, but I'm not willing to carry the weight or lose the battery life so I'm thrilled with the compromise and balance) I run external 4K monitors and the graphics keep up great for my work (programming, nothing graphically intensive)

Lightweight and fast laptop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression is that Fedex brought an empty box! This laptop is super light, perfect for traveling or having it hours on your lap will not make you tired. In addition, the battery lasts most of the day without charging. The battery prediction jumps from 6h to 14h, but it depends if you are using battery saving mode or not.
Performance
I’t is a very capable laptop, compared to any one that I owned in the past, this one it’s hand’s down the fastest one. Thanks to the newest 11gen Intel i7 processor, which is fast and battery efficient at the same time.
Display.
Bright with the ability to dim when necessary. I like the edge-to-edge design, the bezel is almost invisible. High resolution - 2560 x 1600, so it requires scaling to 150%. Good color reproduction due to reflective screen, but that also reflects sun and other objects in a bright room. Personally I would prefer matte for more comfortable usage.
Keyboard,
Standard with slimmed down numeric pad. Backlit keys are also useful at night. Fingerprint sensor built in to the power button, very accurate and fast.
Camera,
Decent quality and OK in dark conditions. Unfortunately no IR sensors for Windows Hello face recognition.
Overall it’s a very fast, light and powerful laptop. 1TB of fast NVME SSD is more than enough.
I've received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this as a replacement for a laptop that was 7 years old and on its last legs. The LG Gram 16 is awesome. It is fast and looks and feels great. It has a large screen with the most recent Intel technologies including EVO. So far this is a great laptop and exceeds my expectations.

I have Gram 15. Really wanted to love the 16, but lack of Touchscreen was a let down for use in my lap. Returned it, sticking with 15 until 16 gets a touch option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LG Gram is known for lightweight laptop with decent hardware. I believe 2021 version is even more refined with the latest 11th gen Intel processor with very fast LPDDR4X memory, and super fast NVMe SSD. Screen on this model is great in terms of resolution (2560x1600) , and great colors. Based on my usage including some development work (Android Studio), Lightroom, WFH meetings, watching Youtube/Nexflix, and office apps, LG Gram 16 inch model fits perfectly. I did not experience any slowness/stutter, or hiccups during the past few weeks. Here are few Pros and Cons in my honest opinion:
Pros:
- Ridiculously lightweight for 16 inch high performance laptop
- Fast CPU, Fast RAM, Fast SSD storage; very good PC components
- Great port selections with thunderbolt 4 support; also USB-C PD charging
- High resolution screen with 16:10 aspect ratio; ideal for work laptop
- Loooooong battery life; 10+ hours of real world usage; impressive
- Simple, yet functional design
Cons
- very reflective screen; hoped for a better anti-reflective coating
- performance drops significantly in battery mode
- Simple, yet bit boring design
- hoped for not having numeric pad on the keyboard; personal preference though
- certain areas of the laptop gets toasty when running some heavy code compile
Overall, I am satisfied with LG Gram 16 inch model. And I can recommend anyone who wants plenty of performance in a relatively large screen with lightweight form factor.
