Was expecting much more

I've had the dishwasher for almost a year now and I expected much more for the money. My old GE dishwasher was 17 years old and up until the last few months, cleaned better than this one. Routinely, I have to rewash. I found that you cannot put any tall utensils in the baskets. Spatulas, tongs, large knives, all need to lie down in the upper drawer. If not, they block one of the sprayer arms and the rest of the load does not get clean. Which seems ridiculous, since there are 3 sprayer arms. If one stopped working, the other 2 should be good enough. Nope, they aren't.
Also, unlike my old one, you cannot take out the upper rack to wash really tall items. I tried and flooded my floor! The GE repairman told me that wasn't an option on this model.
A couple of months ago, the soap dispenser stopped opening. Keep in mind, this unit is less than 1 year old. The repair man tried, but couldn't fix it and replaced the part. But, I wonder what will stop working after 1 year, when they won't cover fixing it anymore.
I wold not buy this model again. And would have to reconsider even buying a GE next time.

This is a terrible dishwasher. The only plus is that it doesn't make a lot of noise, but then it doesn't clean the dishes. I've had the repair guy out once already. It's not worth it.

The absolute worst dishwasher I have ever owned!

I purchased this dishwasher a few months ago and knew immediately that it was the absolutely worst appliance I have ever purchased. Although I rinse all dishes, they are not clean after washing. The silverware trays hang on the front of the racks so that when you load the dishwasher, you either cut yourself or get dirty. The space that these silverware trays take up takes away from the length of the racks for the dishes. You cannot get anything large into the machine as a consequence and it is completely untrue that you can get 12 place settings in there. The machine takes forever, which I do not mind, it is very quiet,which I really like, but pots and pans are never clean, even after multiple cycles. If I could I would give this dishwasher a minus 10 rating. I'll never buy another GE appliance in my life and I have owned quite a few! The store where I purchased this dishwasher did not have the model on the floor so that it was a rude awakening after it was installed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a warranty replacement dishwasher from GE & is supposed to be a "similar model" to our old dishwasher, but it's so much better! It's quieter, has more cycle features, the soap door is better designed, love the top rack and we like the silverware racks in the front of the drawers. Definitely a keeper! And thanks to GE for replacing our old one without a big hassle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cleans well. The front silverware baskets are convenient and silverware comes out very clean. One complaint is that the inside of the door, which is stainless steel, is very wet at the end of the cycle -- even when the dishes themselves are pretty dry. You really need to wipe down the inside of the door with a towel after every use. Otherwise I would have rated this excellent for performance.

best for the money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this dishwasher because of the fact it is american made, has real buttons ( control panels have gone bad on the last couple dishwashers). Can hold 16 settings, have three boys so this is a very good thing. Easy to install, wish it hade a quick rinse but for the money with steam clean, stainless interior door, three wash arms, american made, and very quiet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We rarely use dishwasher other than to dry dishes, but now we are happy to let this machine do all the job. We love the options available to ensure clean dishes/bottles for our newborn. The best part is that it is very quiet.
