This machine is very loud, takes a long time to run a cycle, we have had intermittent problems with the soap dispenser and now an intermittently non-responsive control panel. If we had realized that the builder was installing the bottom of the line in our new gourmet kitchen, we would have upgraded on the spot. There's no delay feature or anything.

Rusty wire rack in just over a year

Our GE dishwasher is working fine after 14 months of service. However, the wire dish racks started to rust after a year of service. The rubber coating that was on the racks seems like it is coming off.

Good looking but dishes don't come out clean, dry

I have heard some good things about GE appliances. I have had good experiences in the past. This dishwasher does not do as well as my old one, which was from 1999.
It is supposed to be a high end model, more advanced than that old technology, but quite simply, the dishes don't always come clean. You have to use an expensive rinse aid in addition to the high end detergent tablets. If you don't use the rinse aid, the dishes come out looking dirty. My old dishwasher never did that and you could use any kind of detergent.
Even when you use the expensive detergent tablets and the expensive extra rinse aid, the dishes often come out looking cloudy, filmy.
I got this model because it had more space on the lower shelf, but the wires to hold the dishes are arranged strangely. It is not very easy to arrange the dishes.
The dishwasher also claims to have an advanced heated drying system, but the dishes are always drenched in water after the cycle. They are never dry.
It is very unusual and also frustrating to believe the claims for this product and pay extra and then haven't work so poorly, worse than a lower end model from the 1990s.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not Top of the Line

Main issue is that about 50% of time the dispenser won't eject Cascade pod, so I have a glop of soapy goo in the tray when I open the dishwasher. Also, the heating cycle is not that effective. I have to put about half the dishes on drying mats. This model was selected by my builder. I would have went with another brand.

This dishwasher already has problems. We built a new home and moved into the house in September. It has leaked, and the detergent holder has failed to discharge the detergent completely. GE will be here to service it soon. We have had other GE appliances fail.
