Does not dry dishes

This dishwasher replaced an entry level GE that worked great. It was just too noisy. Anyway, I bought this for price, looks and low noise. After four uses, this washer won't dry. It 's on the highest dry level and I tried using Jet Dry per GE's suggestion. The inlet water temp hasn't changed from using my old dishwasher and the dishes were bone dry with the old GE. A GE service tech is scheduled to look at it. Hopefully the heating element can be adjusted or replaced. If the tech says there's no problem, then I will exchange it for a different model or brand. Also, there was a strong plastic smell that appears to diminish after each use.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER!!!

ating this product one star is giving it too much credit!!! I have never been so disappointed in a product in my life! We went looking at another model, but the salesman assured us this would be a better product than the one we had researched and decided on based on the excellent consumer reviews (which was cheaper than this one, btw). The product took over two weeks to be delivered. The product arrived and my husband installed it. We sat watching and waiting for it to start. It didn't. The light kept flashing, indicating the door was not all the way shut. We soon realized that the "catch" on the door of the dishwasher that indicates the door is closed so the appliance will work is TOO SHORT to click! This is not an installation problem. How could it be?! We called GE. They were closed, said to call back during business hours. My husband works business hours, like 95% of other Americans. It would be nice if they had better customer service with a little bit wider of a time frame to field calls! We taped on a piece of cardboard to extend the catch and the dishwasher proceeded to start and stop and make weird noises the entire cycle (which is WAY longer than any other dishwasher we've ever owned). It does not sound right, but the manual assures us it's normal. The dishes came out clean, but WET, despite choosing the HEAT DRY option. One day later, it will not start worth anything. As if that is not bad enough, the stupid appliance makes THE most annoying "video game sounds" CONSTANTLY. Whenever we have tried to start the dishwasher (only to have the lights flash indicating the door is not shut properly), it will beep every 60 seconds indefinitely to let you know that it's not working -- as if we didn't notice?! It also plays a stupid tune at the end of the cycle, IF you can get it to work. Did I mention there is not a way to turn off the sounds?! There isn't! Of course! I know this is not a top of the line product, but I still expect the door to close!!! This was my first and will be my last GE purchase. I can't wait to replace it with the cheaper competitor's product that we should have gone with all along!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great price but poor inside design, soap dispenser opens right onto silverware holder and water does not completely dissolve detergent so silverware always has hardened soap after wash! Also, everything is plastic. How long will that last?

A Waste of Money

We had this dishwasher installed as part of a complete kitchen remodel. It didn't work from the start. We are now on our third dishwasher. Although it runs and cleans easy to remove food particles, we have to pre-rinse everything to be sure it comes out clean. I would not recommend the product to anyone.

This product is extremely low ended it is horrible

This is the second dishwasher as the first one was replaced due to its lack of efficiency. This is no better except it will turn on when start is pushed. After the cycle finishes all utensils need to be towel dried. Plates must be cleaned before they are put in the dishwasher. It is not quiet and very tinny sounding. The only positive note is the glasses do wash without a film.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't feel that it cleans my dishes all that well. Also the utensil dispenser is easily broken. The tips on each end which holds them into place break off too easily. Mine have already broken on both large holders. I would not recommend this product
