New Home Owners Dispair

The GE dishwasher came in our newly constructed townhouse. We used it twice and then were gone for a month. Upon return we had to call for repairs. There was a crackling metallic noise when the cycle started - like crinkling up aluminum foil. Pretty scary when considering electrical nature of the appliance. The wash cycle is extremely long. When inquiry was made, we was told some cycles, depending on the settings, last up to 130 minutes. What ever happened to energy efficient appliances? Lastly, there is minimal room for silverware in the small containers at the front of the lower level. The top shelf will not accommodate a stemmed wine glass. We definitely would not have selected this model were we given the opportunity to do so.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Takes forever to run. We wait and wait and wait for it to finish. Meanwhile its using electricity and water much more than necessary

I am disappointed in the washing ability of this dishwasher. If the dishes are not well rinsed before going in the dishwasher, the food will end up baked on. I also do not like the layout of the bottom rack as it makes it difficult to arrange dishes. I do like that the top rack can hold tall water bottles easily.

It takes much to long for the cycle to run (3 hours??) The dishes are not always clean even though they are rinsed prior to the washer

Would not buy!!

We found the product not to be particularly user friendly. The silverware rack space is extremely small, particularly for cooking utensils. The upper shelf is shallow and will not accommodate items such as a stemmed wine glass. The lower racks are designed so it is very difficult to place bowls, pots and pans. Depending on how you select the settings, a cycle can last, up to 130 minutes, not particularly in tune with energy saving trends.

Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the noise level. I find it rather loud. Otherwise, performance is great!
