Latch is broken

Normally, I would say it is an excellent product. I have two of them. HOWEVER, the latch just broke. It's not as though it is used an awful lot, but the latch just broke and the lid no longer stays shut. And since you pick up the file with the handle that is in the lid, it makes it difficult to pick up, and is no longer secure. I would imagine Sterilite would make a better, more reliable product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Useful in Organizing contracting quotes

I'm a contractor who is on the road daily working at different job sites and I keep this item in my truck. I use it to organize all my contracting quotes so they stay nice and I can keep track of changes. I like the separate area for storing my pencils, and love that it is portable. It's a very handy item.

The Sterilite Portable File Box is very durable if you don't overload it or over extend the hinges. The top handle will carry any normal load. Use the side finger grips if the box is extra heavy loaded. This file box is a perfect solution to separate and label current business tasks and is a very convenient and stack-able method to file away long term records. I also use the box for small repair projects and the see through lid makes it easy to locate tools and parts and pieces of any project.
I would recommend this to a friend!

File Box storage container

I have purchased several of these file boxes and carry them daily with me as I travel. The plastic handles have broken on them as well as the lock for the lids. The container is fine but the hardware is cheap and does not last.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a bad product

Not a bad organizer for home files but it is portable to use for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other organizations. Colors make it easy to ID for separate organization methods. One problem we had with ours is that the latches break off early on with very little use, so I will see how customer service is with replacing them.
I would recommend this to a friend!
