Love this box....but whats up with the lid hinge?!

This file box is exactly what I need for the few things I still keep in paper form. We recently ditched our large file cabinet and digitized most of what was in it.
Pros:
I like how the entire top area is designed to store essentials (pens, clips, scissors, etc). The other portable file boxes I considered don't have nearly as much space in the lid for this.
The latch to close the box and the handle to pick up the box are both solid and sturdy. I can pick this box up one handed, by the handle, full of files and paper, and carry it with confidence (i.e. it does not feel like the latch or handle will give way....causing the bottom of the box to fall out and your files and papers ending up all over the floor due to handle or latch failure - - yes I've had this happen with other file box brands).
The only Con I can find is with the hinges. The box I purchased didn't come with the little buttons or plugs that are needed to keep the lid secured to the box. Anyone know where I can find these? Or do I need to buy a whole other box?

Nice box, weak hinge

I bought the box because it seemed perfect for fransferring a small number of files from place to place.
The hinge on the latch failed after about a year-and-a-half, rendering the box worthless for its intended function.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Latch Broke

This is a great product. The only problem I have is that the latch snapped off. It would be great if the company had a link to replacement parts for their products. I do recommend if it is heavy, not to pick it up by the handle. That is how my latch broke.

Broken latch

I have 4 of theses file boxes and they do the job. But had problem with latches on two boxes broke with in a year after purchasing. Can't lift portable box by handle any longer. I open then quite frequently and they didn't take the open and closing well. They a very thin in the pivot area. Hope to get a response from Manufacture on my issue.

I bought this a month ago to carry all the paperwork for my father's Estate. When the hinge cap fell out, I didn't know what is was. When I realized what is was I didn't know where it was. So I came on this website and found how to get a replacement.

Love the file box. Very well made. But the latch broke in the first month. Used 4 times before it broke off.

I'm just gonna say I bought this 10+ yrs ago & my latch immediately broke. Seems like that's still been going on..for years. So.. where's the new latch ? Or why can't I get a replacement latch?

Latch is broken

Normally, I would say it is an excellent product. I have two of them. HOWEVER, the latch just broke. It's not as though it is used an awful lot, but the latch just broke and the lid no longer stays shut. And since you pick up the file with the handle that is in the lid, it makes it difficult to pick up, and is no longer secure. I would imagine Sterilite would make a better, more reliable product.
