It is a really good product. I have tested it with Mac mini and iPad Air 4. All works perfectly. Highly recommended. Delivery is fast too.

I bought 12 ports version and I'm very satisfied for quality (is a metal chassis) andl ports available. it doesn't heat up like other hubs.

Beware of a limitation

I was one of the original kickstarter backer. I was excited to receive it after waiting for a few months. Its built is solid and works with my Macbook pro 2019 with one external 4K monitor at 60hz. I purchased this because I want to connect dual 4K monitors at 60hz with my MacBook Pro. Recently I finally get try to connect the dock via two HDMI ports to my dual 32" 4K monitor setup but to my surprise I could not get the external monitors to work in extend desktop mode (only in mirror mode). After some research, I found out that the MacOS has a limitation of supporting only one external monitor in extended desktop mode via one USB-C thunderbolt port. Mac supports mirror desktop mode only on dual monitors which is not what I want. If you are looking to connect dual monitors with your Mac, this will not work since it has one USB-C thunderbolt connector from the dock. It is no fault on the Hyerdrive part but I am still disappointed. Hope that Hyperdrive would point out this MacOS limitation. By the way, I also learnt that new M1 Chip Macbook only supports one external monitor.

Great product, not perfect.

Works great with MacBook Pro. Not perfect for Windows, at all.
Also, USB-C input is not tight, at all. Gives me problem.
Between me and a close colleague, I observed that over 6 12-port Hyperdrive Gen 2.
For the price, it's a bit unexpected.

Not built for longevity

I was a kickstarter backer for this hub and was really excited. It worked fine initially but after 4 months of use, it has started showing poor build quality. I am connected on my MacBookPro 2019 to a 29" 4K60 monitor and the screen switches on and off periodically. Also it goes blank at times and I have to disconnect hyperdrive and connect back for the monitor to work again. The USB 2.0 ports don't work reliably - work with a few accessories and not properly with hard drives. I suspect it is a power management issue. And now since the last few weeks, the SD / MicroSD card slots have started giving problems. It cycles between mount and eject of the SD card whenever I try to read a file. I am unable to read any SD card from the ports. I necessarily have to connect a SD card reader directly to my laptop to read the files. Its a total waste of money!!

Mac based user..Garbage product for OSX

Why on earth would anyone find a product with 3 video outputs that show only 1 MIRRORED monitor is beyond me. I made the mistake of not reading the fine print. Took almost 2 weeks to arrive, and now i have to pay shipping to return this hot mess of crap. Not only did i have an issue with the product at its core operation, but within an hour of it being plugged into my machine it began blinking every 45 seconds and continued until i unplugged it and put it right back in the box. Garbage product, garbage support..Will not buy a Hyper Drive product again.

great hub with plenty of ports and a great price point, but i had a few issues with it: lack of detachable usb c connecting cable, lack of color options (only comes in space gray rather than silver), usb port could only charge rather than transfer data and doesn’t support ipad pro charging. it got warm when in use as well
things i would change on this hub:
silver color option
detachable usb c cable
allow pass through charging from all ports, and giving the option to attach usb c connector to computer from multiple ports, potentially including a side port rather than on either face. if i was hyper, i’d also include a sturdy plastic base and/or sell a metal stand to allow the hub to sit upright, one that could be universal/adjustable for all the hubs they offer like the mac mini stands.
