Awful iron for any purpose!

I am a skilled sewer and have used 4 irons in my 54 year of sewing: a General Electric, a Rowenta, a Black and Decker, and a Singer Steamcraft Plus Steam Iron. The Steamcraft was the worst. I've only had it under 4 weeks, used it twice, and it leaks water all over the fabric and the ironing board. I do not recommend this iron.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed

I bought this iron and am so disappointed it leaks water all over, I have let it set and then tried again and again but same thing everytime water running every where.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Button for Steam quit working at 13 months!

I purchased this iron at the beginning of 2023. Last night when working on pressing and steaming some quilt pieces, the steam button broke, or at least that is what appears to have happened as it is in a down position and doesn't depress or come up. I see others have had this issue with the iron. It is a shame that after 13 months, the iron broke. I used it probably once a week - not every day and some months I did not use it at all, so it hasn't been used LOT in the 13 months I have owned it

The iron works very well. Heats up quick and holds temperature. The selector button has not been an issue with me, as others have noted. Like the tip as well for detail.
The steam button is broken. Apparently this is a common issue with this model. Unfortunately I was given the iron a couple of years ago and do not have the receipt.

We are sorry that you are having issues with your Singer Iron. Have you tried refilling the reservoir with water and then allowing time for the steam button to return to it's highest position? This often solves the problem.
