Can't wash dishes
on January 27, 2022
Posted by: sadhomeowner

What can I say, even on "heavy load" with very few dishes it can't clean properly. It leaves spots (even though I have a water softener) and can't clean off basic stains. More of a dish rinser.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there - While we'd love to congratulate you on your new dishwasher, we are absolutely sorry to hear that it is not cleaning dishes as expected. This is not what we want to hear and can understand how disappointing this can be for you. We truly apologize for this. With that said, we'd love to suggest a few tips so you can achieve the best quality clean.

We suggest to use high quality detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent. Also, be sure the rinse agent dispenser isn't empty. Using the option Wash TempBoost can also help result in cleaner dishes.

You may learn more helpful tips within the troubleshooting guide on page 19 of your owner's manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-1.pdf&_ga=

We sure hope you find this information insightful. Should you have any questions or concerns we are always here to help! -Shayla@GEA

The dishwasher door is so thin which makes the wash cycle very loud. Not sure why it takes so long to run.

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry to hear about the noisiness of your dishwasher, we can understand how that'd be frustrating. We did want to say that the actual sound levels can be a little different once installed in the home. You might find the appliance quieter or louder than the decibel rating suggests. The loudness of a dishwasher depends on the installation location, the cabinetry where it is located, the flooring, the countertop above it, and even whether the dishwasher is full of dishes or partially empty.

As for the cycle times, you can read more about those and what affects that run time on page 5 of your Use and Care manual, here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-1.pdf&_ga=2.83715089.666197622.1646917891-1449743621.1646917891

We do hope this is helpful for you.

We're always here should you have other questions or concerns!

Best wishes,

Takes over 4 hours to do a load

Our apartment manager installed this dishwasher and when we select the options that we need to clean and sanitize, it takes over 4 hours to go through the whole cycle. How is this considered energy efficient?

We're so sorry that you're experiencing long cycle times with your dishwasher. This would be discouraging and we're glad you shared this feedback with us here.

Dishwashers now run longer to ensure good wash performance, but they use less energy while running. Also, in using less water, your water heater does not need to provide as much hot water and therefore is not using energy to heat more water. You can read more about this in the following article: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38926&_ga=2.130158922.435921245.1648476361-1084580016.1645804717.

And for descriptions of your dishwasher's cycle times, check out pages 5 through 7 of the owner's manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-1.pdf&_ga=2.130158922.435921245.1648476361-1084580016.1645804717.

We hope this is insightful! If you need anything else, please reach back out. Best, Kelsey@GEA

Terrible Dishwasher, Do not get this one.
on March 24, 2022
Posted by: sanguich
from West Coast USA
I have had this dishwasher for 5 months and the experience has been terrible. It came with my new build home so we assumed that a brand new GE dishwasher would last for awhile with no issues but NOPE! We had a samsung dishwasher at our other home and that one has a digital display and was 1000x better.
The issues we’ve been experiencing with this unit:
1.) the door strike or latch is malfunctioning so it takes about 5 minutes just to get the door closed and for the cycle to start properly. This issue also leads to a broken peace of mind knowing that the door can pop open at any time, leaking water everywhere. So I work next to the dishwasher to ensure this doesn't happen.
2.) the unit doesnt dry at all. It just retains the moisture within the unit. If you open iteven a day later the dishes are still soaking wet. We’ve tried every setting to see if the drying process would improve but it does not.
3.) Whichever GE tech installed our unit forgot to latch the back or bottom of the unit so it slides around and makes a lot of noise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New home, new dishwasher, I thought it was joke. This thing feels like a toy. It never worked so I threw it out and bought a quality dishwasher.

It’s a dishwasher. Not sure what else I would want it to do. It dose seem to be the cheapest of the appliances we got but some of our stuff is pretty nice so that doesn’t really mean it’s bad.
