Bad. Cheap. Plastic.

I already rated this 1 star once, but somehow it was deleted. This dishwasher is junk. Cheap plastic junk. The bottom rack doesn’t even fit and the dishes crash together and the rack comes off the rails when you try to slide the rack out. I can’t believe this is a GE product. I gladly would have paid more for a different one. GE usually has good products, I am shocked this one comes from GE. We have a warranty person coming this week to check it out. My 9 year old started crying when he tried to pull out the rack because the dishes crashed and the rack slid off. He said he’d donate his money he has been saving for four years for a 4 wheeler to buy a new dishwasher because this one is so bad. Do not waste your money!

Utter Piece of Junk

I remodeled my kitchen and so regret just telling my contractor to find a dishwasher in my price range instead of doing thorough research myself. The ONLY positive thing about it is that it runs relatively quiet. But there is nothing else of any value in this thing. Unlike my old dishwasher, this one is almost all plastic, and cheap plastic at that. The racks are configured so they only hold certain items, mainly flat dishes, and if you want to put bowls or pots and pans, the rack isn't conducive for them at all. And if you put things with rims, like skillets or storage containers, it doesn't clean them fully. Worst of all, it doesn't dry for jack. Even on the high dry setting, more than 12 hours after running the washer, the walls and more than half the items inside are still coated with condensation. The instructions actually recommend running it on low dry and then leave the door open to finish drying. Are you freakin' kidding me? Leave the door open is their grand plan to dry the dishes? It's obviously a known manufacturing defect they let go and threw a stupid answer in the instructions. I wouldn't recommend this piece of garbage to anyone.

Thanks for leaving a review. We appreciate your comments on this dishwasher and apologize if it hasn't met your expectations. Not being able to fit your dishes in this model comfortably can be frustrating, and we'd like to help with this issue. We suggest looking in the Use and Care manual on page 11 for tips on loading your dishwasher. Here's a link you can use as well:

https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-2.pdf&_ga=2.48408942.956914429.1664198451-1349696473.1644011928

If your dishes aren't drying properly, you may have a low inlet water temperature. Please make sure the inlet water temperature is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit. You can find more troubleshooting tips on page 20 of this manual as well. Thanks again for sharing. We hope this helps.

This was in a package upgrade on my new build and it smelled badly of chemicals for the first week or so, the top rack broke and it's falling away from the cabinet. The rubber on the side has also come apart.

Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your GE Appliances dishwasher. We are not entirely clear what you mean stating the door is shaky. If you feel this is an issue with the dishwasher, please call 1-800-432-2737 to schedule a service appointment with an authorized GE Appliances service technician to have it checked.

This is a good model you have purchased and with the minimum of 120° F incoming water and the utilization of the WashTemp Boost option, you should expect great wash performance. To review the features and options offered and recommended loading techniques take a look at the owner's manual -- https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF -- We do hope this helps. A little noisy when on, but overall cleans dishes satisfactory. We just moved into a new home build and didn't get to pick our appliances. Not unhappy with this model, but would have chosen an upgraded version if had the opportunity to do so.

Hello- We appreciate you taking the time to share your review. Congratulations on your new home! That is very exciting! We are sorry that you wouldn't have chosen this model, but glad it is cleaning your dishes well. A rhythmic knocking sound is most likely caused by the spray arm hitting something inside the dishwasher as the spray arm rotates. To solve the problem, rearrange dishware inside the dishwasher to provide clearance for the spray arms. The spray arms must be free to rotate for good wash performance. Please review the following link to get the best performance from your dishwasher.

Piece of Junk Take My word for it.

This dishwasher is the absolute worse appliance. Newly installed and used it 3 times. Does not clean the dishes/ residue from the one (Finish brand) capsule. Does not dry inside at all even on Boost. Stays wet inside and smells even when emptied. So NO it does not sanitize! So cheaply made. Wheels don't turn - so you clumsily drag the bottom rack out. Poorly designed; you can't fit anything inside. I've owned several dishwashers in my life and never had a dishwasher issue, especially when brand new.

Hey there, and thanks for contacting us about this. We hate to hear you’ve had trouble with the dishwasher not cleaning well, not drying, the wheels not turning and you have a concern with fitting items inside. This certainly isn’t the experience we want to provide for you, and we regret the trouble you’ve had. Notice of your feedback will be sent to our team for review.

After checking our system, we do see you’ve been in contact with our service department. If you want to get back in touch with them, they can be reached at 1-800-432-2737 or online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm . If you’d like to try troubleshooting for the machine, we do have tips that may help. For the issue you’ve had with residue and dishes not getting clean, you may want to make sure the filter isn’t clogged and the water temperature is at least 120 degrees F. A high enough water temperature may help with the drying performance as well, and using a rinse agent can also improve drying. Additional troubleshooting details are available starting on page 19 of the manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-2.pdf&_ . We also have an article discussing odor here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38932&_ .

Regarding the issue you’ve had with wheels not turning, you may want to make sure they’re all in place and the rack is on the track properly. We’ve got more information on what to check if the racks won’t pull out properly here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=38988&_ . For your concern with fitting items, we did design the dishwasher with a larger capacity to help fit in plenty of items and larger dishware; if it might be useful, the manual does also have loading tips starting on page 11.

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any other concerns or questions, we’re always glad to offer assistance. -Sarah@GEA
