Quiet, but...

I've bought other Vornado products and was very satisfied. Worth every penny I paid. So, I thought this would be another fantastic purchase.
Stupidly, I didn't pay attention to the excellent reviews this received, which were mostly from those who received some incentive, a mistake I won't make again.
On the plus side, this unit is super quiet, including barely hearing the "glug" when it feeds itself water. Having a remote is really convenient. Filling it and cleaning it are a breeze.
The minuses? The disparity between what the unit says is the humidity level, what the remote says is the humidity level, and what's actually the humidity level in the room are MILES apart. I have 2 separate hygrometers roughly 15 feet away from the humidifier on opposite sides of the unit. Those have remained roughly 1-2% difference. I've got to put the unit up to 55% in order to break 40% even though the unit says it's 55%. The remote is all over the place, so I only use it to turn the unit on or off.
Pretty disappointed in this unit, especially for what it costs. I really expected more from Vornado.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
