The old Electrolux fried itself so my dad went off and brought this one back. I was IMMEDIATELY unhappy with it. The lint trap screen thingy is huge and has FOUR screens to clean now instead of one and the giant lint trap is nearly impossible to get completely clean. The drum is smaller than the old model and some weird engineering has the clothes crushed against the door and twisting over the lint trap no matter how small the load is...put one towel or six towels, doesn't matter, they end up smashed against the door and block the lint trap and get all twisted and wrinkly. My last gripe with this newer machine is that there is no cycle that lasts longer than an hour. Seems innocuous but is a HUGE pain in the butt. No longer can I leave a towel load to dry while I go out or go to bed or anything. Nope, have to go restart the load after an hour and give it more time. Even smaller loads of heavier items that could be dried on high temp almost always have to be restarted and given more time. Why did you guys only give me an hour? Hate it but cannot afford to get something ANYTHING different. I literally HATE this dryer. Terrible design and built-in flaws. Blugh
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not quite right

I purchased this dryer about 6 months ago, along with the coordinating washer. They are not stacked or on pedestals. I have had no issues with the washer--it's great, but there are several issues with the dryer. First, it has recently, begun to make a rattling, tapping sound that sounds like loose metal and it coordinates with the drum movement. It's pretty loud and hard to ignore. Secondly, the lint screen is a clever boxlike design, in that the lint is trapped down inside of the screen, but there are pointed plastic clips on each side of the screen that woven items get caught on and subsequently shred in multiple spots. The clips don't seem to serve any purpose, because they don't hold the screen in place and the screen operates without them. Lastly, the Eco cycle doesn't fully dry the load. I have to use another cycle to finish drying the items. Again, I would recommend the washer without hesitation, but the dryer is quirky.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love my new dryer. I’ve had it about 3 months and still working beautifully. The steam feature is great for my sweaters and getting wrinkles out. The dryness sensing isn’t always spot on but I just turn it back on or use times dry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently purchased a matching dryer to our Electrolux washer and couldn't be happier with the quality and efficiency of both machines. The dryer was a replacement for a Samsung, which didn't nearly match the performance of the Electrolux. Our old dryer took forever to dry clothes and was always hot to the touch. The Electrolux takes a fraction of the time to thoroughly dry even the heaviest of loads, but is barely warm on the exterior. Both the washer and dryer are superior products to any we've owned in the past and we highly recommend these Electrolux appliances.

Very Good Dryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had the dryer for approximately 2 months. I have not used the steam function yet, so I cannot rate that. My only comment is that when it is drying on "auto" it seems to sense that the contents are dry and shuts off. Most of the time, they are still damp and you have to restart it in fixed time to get them to dry. If you are drying on timed dry, everything seems to be done before the amount of time. I would purchase it again.

We couldn't be happier with our decision and are impressed with the quality and efficiency of both units. The dryer was a replacement for another brand that took a long time to dry a load and always felt hot to the touch on its exterior. The Electrolux dries even the heaviest of loads in a fraction of the time and is barely warm on the outside. The size of the tub is also a big plus in accepting larger amounts of clothes without sacrificing drying times. We are very impressed with both appliances and heartily recommend the Electrolux products to anyone looking for an outstanding washer/dryer combination.
