I purchased a Genesis II E-435 (NG) to replace a quality Jenn-Air model I installed and loved for just over 20 years until the interior walls began to finally disintegrate. We grill a lot, at least once weekly year round, usually more, and I was hoping the new grill would measure up, concerned it just wouldn't be the same quality experience.
I am very happy to report that my new E-435 surpassed my expectations in nearly every way. The product engineering is excellent and the parts all well manufactured with a solid fit. For a guy like me that likes to build things this was a pleasure to assemble. Many times I noted how well a given component was designed.
I did hit a snag when discovering that the ignition starter wire included was too short, obviously an error in packaging. I notified Weber customer service and spoke to a very pleasant representative. Even during the covid lockdowns, just a few days later a replacement wire was delivered at no cost and I completed the assembly.
That was a couple months ago and I have been enjoying my new grill ever since. It is a pleasure to cook with, a truly excellent tool for someone who loves to grill and cook outside. We do it all the time and I expect my new Genesis will perform well for many years to come.
Thank you for such a fine product, and the customer service that stands behind it.
First of all, this is a great grill. Why 4 stars? Because even though it's packaged really well and shipped fine, it arrived with dents to two pieces. Neither of the pieces affect functioning or assembly. One back post area is bent and the top has a dent in it that's totally visible with light on it. Honestly-for this price for a 4 burner grill from Weber, I expect perfect manufacturing. Don't release bent parts from the factory. Because you know that every time one grills, your friends always say, How do you like the grill? And so then a customer says, Hey it's great but it arrived with bent pieces. Why set yourself up so consumers have that convo around your brand?
In terms of the quality of cooking and the features, the grill is amazing. I assembled it myself and everything worked. It cooks food really well, and the distance between the gas flames and the bars allows for cooking on high heat without burning. Really pleased with tool hangers and the LP tank hanger. It's a real pleasure to cook on and we've cooked burgers and lamb racks perfectly so far. I love the grill and totally recommend it. I've bought cheaper grills before, but I'm sold on spending more because it really does make a difference in cooking--that's what I wanted to learn with this grill purchase. I hope to have this grill going strong for years. So-a recommend and hopefully when you get your grill the pieces are in pristine shape.
I've only used the grill 4 times but so far it's great. My last Genesis B lasted 18 years thanks to the fabulous Weber support. So, I expect this one to be even better. The reason I took off one star is because of the Weber stickers that came with the grill. There was a sticker near the thermometer, one on the side burner, and tape to hold the side burner door cover down. All left glue residue marks on the grill that are still there even after all my attempts to remove them. Happy to update this review in a few years time.
