This is a great grill. I really like the ability to do indirect heat by using the two outside burners. It has plenty of space for wings or salmon in the middle. And you can’t beat the quality of Weber.

Lots of thoughts. The packaging of the grill was amazing! Arrived on a pallet, box in perfect shape. The interior packing pieces kept everything in its place. No scratches or dents on arrival, great QA at the Weber factory. I used the BILT app to assemble the grill myself. I put up an 8' folding table, and laid out all the parts and bagged bits. I used conducting-preventive grease on the fasteners, and added liquid electrical tape to the wiring in a few spots, to make it more weather-proof. Everything was clear and all parts fit perfectly. Probably my only quibble is for the price, larger rubber wheels on the caster-side would provide smoother-rolling, since owners will always be rolling these grills on outdoor, often uneven surfaces. The ignition system works flawlessly, all burners fired up the very first time I connected the propane. During burn-in, the grill rapidly climbed to nearly 700 degrees! I may need to experiment with the "sear station", as I tried searing a bone-in ribeye, and didn't get quite the sear I was expecting. But the amount of grilling surface is tremendous. I kept thinking "I need more food to fill this thing up!" Used it 3 times so far, and so far, not a single complaint.

This is the first grille I have purchased in 20 years. I can't tell you the brand of the grille that I replaced since it was installed in the house when I bought it and I had repainted and refurbished it so many times all decals were gone. So to say the least I wanted to purchase another grille that would last another 20+ years. I researched many types of grilles and even watched videos on non-Weber grilles and for what I wanted I kept zeroing in on Weber grilles. I have a large family (4 kids and spouses, 6 grandkids) and having the side grille and the large grilling area met my needs. The cost made me hesitate at first, but as I kept researching other grilles I believe that the Genesis natural gas grille would meet my needs. My only concern was if the cost delivered the quality (and it did). I am impressed with the quality of all the components and the assembly was straight forward. The extra storage capacity under the grille is a great benefit. The doors keep it looking neat. I even splurged and bought the cover. The only change I would ask the Weber engineers to make is to include a gas shutoff valve inside the doors. The large gas knobs are great for operation but the grand kids have a tendency to be attracted to them and they want to play with them. So having a shutoff valve inside the cabinet would be a great safety feature. Other than that Weber has delivered a great grille and I expect to get many years of use out of it.

Hello! Congratulations on your new grill! Your Genesis II should reach about 500-550 degrees with all the burners set to High (9 o'clock position), and the lid closed within 10 to 15 minutes. If that's not the case, you may be activating a safety device built into the regulator. This safety device is a component of all LP gas regulators and is designed to reduce the flow of gas in the event of a leak.

You can inadvertently activate the safety device without having a gas leak. Typically, this occurs if you do not wait a sufficient time between opening the tank valve and the burner control knobs or if one or more of the burner control knobs is in an open position when opening the LP tank valve.
When the safety device has been activated the grill is referred to as being in “bypass”.

To ensure that you are not inadvertently activating the safety device as you turn on the grill, please use the following procedure:

-Turn all burner control knobs to OFF, including the side burner control knob.

-Make sure the grill lid is open. Open the LP tank valve and then wait at least 60 seconds. This will allow the hose and regulator to pressurize.

-Turn the first burner control knob to the START/HIGH position and then ignite the grill by pushing the ignition button.

-Turn each of the other burner control knobs to high, one at a time, and press the igniter button until all the burners have been lit.

-Close the grill lid.

-The grill should reach approximately 500 to 550 degrees in 10-15 minutes.

If that's not the case, please contact us at support@weberstephen.com, and we will troubleshoot further.

Thank you!
