Arrived packaged like Fort Knox, no chance of shipping damage. Assembly was more complicated than any other grill we've owned but worth the time and effort. Had an aesthetic sticker residue problem underneath the lid's clear coat but customer service's prompt response was to send me a new lid for free!! Had some pre-purchase concerns after reading recent reviews about customer service....definitely didn't experience anything but outstanding response for my issue.
I was very attached to our last grill for 13+ years but am so pleased with this beautifully designed & manufactured upgrade. So impressive assembled, I almost didn't want to use it. Very happy with black finish choice; much easier to keep clean than stainless. Grates definitely need a good seasoning first several uses. Cook surface is substantial. Grate spacing is bigger than expected but easily managed. Still in the practice stage optimizing heat settings, etc., haven't tried the sear station or side burner yet. Ignition system is magic, quick pre-heat. Worried the propane tank mount would bother me since it's not hidden inside the cabinet, but convenience of the tank meter and height of valve access are worth it. Plentiful hooks and lots of cabinet storage (rotisserie purchased separately fits perfectly). Will have to plug/cover possible rodent entry points. Substantial grill for the money. Very impressed and pleased with the purchase!
Totally pleased; excellent design; would highly recommend this model. The instructions were vague and parts left over but we overcame that. BTW, do you still do “Grill Out Times” newsletter—loved reading it.
I did a fair amount of reading before deciding to purchase my Genesis II E-435 grill. The following decision points caused me to purchase the grill I did, 1st was Weber's reputation for standing behind their products. 2nd was that I wanted a higher end model that was specifically set up for Natural gas, this sounds simpler than it was after researching other grills most of which offered you the different orifices' so you could use different sources. I did not want the hassle of trying to get those to fit and work without losing them or putting them in wrong. So far I have grilled a wide variety of meats, fruits and vegetables. The heat is consistent and the precision of the dials allows me to maintain a desired temperature. Assembly was straight forward and the instruction and video were easy to follow. The only comment I have related to that is when attaching the gas line for the side burner, it appears to me that it should be done earlier in the assembly than instructions say. It took a fair amount of manipulation to get it attached correctly.
I've only used the grill 4 times but so far it's great. My last Genesis B lasted 18 years thanks to the fabulous Weber support. So, I expect this one to be even better. The reason I took off one star is because of the Weber stickers that came with the grill. There was a sticker near the thermometer, one on the side burner, and tape to hold the side burner door cover down. All left glue residue marks on the grill that are still there even after all my attempts to remove them. Happy to update this review in a few years time.
