I was hesitant to buy a new after using my old grill for about 22 years. My old grill was 100% stainless steel and still looked new after the 22 years. The gas manifold had failed and i was not inclined to put any more money into it. After doing much research i purchased the Genesis II S-435. This grill has a very nice cast aluminum fire box and stainless steel flame tamers and flavorizer parts, along with a full 10 year warranty. I did the full assembly and the instructions were very well organized and detailed. Everything was there and all the parts fit together exactly as noted. all screw holes lined up perfectly and the screws went into their places without any issues. The grill fires right-up and delivers temps to over 700 degrees in a few minutes. This is a very nice grill easy to clean and maintain and does an excellent job of grilling. The VALUE is there and i am happy.

After owning and enjoying a Weber gas grill for years, I recently moved to a new home without gas. I purchased a propane Weber Genesis II S-435 in hopes to replicate the cooking quality of a gas grill. I opted to build the grill, which gave me an appreciation and understanding of how these machines are made. In the six weeks I have owned it I have challenged it with Wagyu and grass fed steaks, burgers, chicken, and vegetables. The Wagyu steaks may have been the best steaks I have ever eaten. By first cooking on the the hot sear setting and then moving the steaks to regular hot burners, the steaks came out on par with the finest NY steakhouses - juicy, buttery, and tender. Burgers, chicken, and vegetables cook up cleaner than traditional gas grills. When I purchased this grill I thought I was compromising, but as it turns out I actually enjoy it more than any gas grill or green egg I have ever used.
So glad I pulled the trigger and upgraded to a Webber. No longer do I have to grill around the hot spots and hope every burger or steak is cooked how I expect. Temperatures are consistent front to back and side to side, grilled 12 burgers and corn at the same time and everyone came out perfect! The only thing I don't like, and it's not a big deal, the grates can be a little sticky. I have the 7mm stainless grates so you can't season them.
I upgraded from a 16 year old Weber Genesis Silver C. It was still in great condition so I gave it to a friend. I had replaced casters, flavorizer bars, one valve, and one igniter. Not bad for at least 2000 grilling sessions. So the new purchase was influenced by outstanding past performance. The new grill is substantially better than the old one. I am amazed, didn't think there was much to be improved upon. I've been polishing it like a new car.
This is a beautiful large 4 burner grill, with all the heat and controls you need. I added the cast sear grate to the sear section for crisscross patterns on the steaks, and it works very well. My only negative is that I find the wheel axle flimsy for the weight of the unit, and my wheels bend inwards and touch the body frame of the grill.
