Love this grill for all the right reasons: good quality, nice size and wonderful warranty. It's almost too big for my wife and I and would recommend the smaller 3 burner with sear station and side burner as an alternative. Mine is a propane grill with a scale to weigh the tank and let you know how full it is. Love the cast aluminum sides to lid and fire box too, they won't rust and should last forever. Not to excited about the plastic sides to the grill that has utensil holders. These ends look flimsy but should be cheap to replace if they crack or break. Another issue I was not too happy about is the fact that the propane tank that is on the side is only half shielded from view by a narrow piece of metal. Now I am thinking of painting my white propane tank gray to match the short side piece that I wish was wider. The side burner works good, but please note that if closed and burner left on from previous use, the burner will light if you are lighting any of the other burners on a subsequent cookout and blacken the lid which may be difficult to return to its original stainless shine. The sear burner is just another burner tucked in between two regular burners so you can cook with the heat of 3 burners instead of just two. Not sure it makes much difference only time will tell. You can add a temperature gauge and rotisserie which are not included but you may want to consider. Cooks great with very nice knobs and nice stainless steel rod grates that are not real big either but should work well I hope. I bought this unit because it was stainless steel mostly and looks sharp and has the Weber warranty. I also own a Weber Summit 4 burner I purchased in 2001 and it still runs strong and in use in my other home and love it too.
I have used this several time since I bought it in December (weather has not been great in NC) but each time I marvel at the grill. It is a whole new world. Does not flame up like the old one did. Chicken is cooked and not burned. Used the iGrill temp probes on a beef rib roast, that was fun and turned out great. The size will help for when we entertain, but still does great when just the family. So far so great!

I just bought the S 435 from my go to outdoor equipment store. I replaced an older Genesis grill. Although my old one was in great shape, this one is larger, has more features, plus it is much easier to change out the LP Tank. You don’t have to wrestle the tank inside the cabinet like my old one.
I generally like it. Certainly, it cooks well and with far fewer flame-ups. The surface is large enough for guests. And I really like the fold-up / down warmer shelve for buns etc. And it has some high quality features. However, I do not like the hooks Weber has on the side since they don't fit standard kitchen tools. I will install some good stainless S hooks on the front left side, carefully spaced and drilled. And I would have preferred some of the features on the next models up, e.g., tank inside and more stainless steel. I am not convinced that the steak searing burner system works very well, it's OK.
I’ve had this grill for about two months and love grilling on it. I previously owned a Weber natural gas grill which I loved. We moved and natural gas wasn’t an option so we have propane. This grill cooks a little hotter than the natural gas and took some experimentation. I have adjusted and love this grill especially the searing feature which cooks steaks hamburgs fish and sausages perfectly. The only knock is that you have to use the starter to ignite each burner. My previous grill just started by turning on the gas for the desired burner. I wonder if this feature will cause the igniter to wear out prematurely.
The BILT application that was available on my phone for putting the grill together was awesome. Best directions ever!! The grill does a awesome job of cooking. We are in our early 60s and have always bought good grills, but this is the best.
Stainless Steel is impossible to keep clean. After being clean and put under a Weber Cover, the next day there are all kinds of blotches. I'm using a 5 star SS Cleaner, so that's not the issue. Anyone else dealing with this? Wish I had a painted baked enamel!
This replaces a 17 year old Weber Summit. The Genesis has a great design, great size but is very lacking in heat. Unable to get good grill marks on the outside, with the sear on, and medium/rare on inside. The grill is 6 weeks old and wondering if we have a lemon?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
