Nice quality grill- searing station works great, plenty of surface area for large scale cooking, great heat control and uniformity. I replaced an older Summit grill that had been hard-piped to a central (underground) LPG tank and wish it was easier to connect this grill to the old piping; would like to see Weber offer a kit to allow connection to a threaded gas service valve at the grill.
Other comment is to be very careful if placing grill near deck rails, side of house, etc. The backside of this model radiates quite a bit of heat (enough to quickly soften vinyl siding that was in proximity). This is basic common sense, but one might be complacent thinking that a grill in this price range is insulated well enough to squeeze it into a corner. It isn’t.
Lot of money, the lid doesn’t close or open properly. Sometimes the lid catches and you need two hands to pull hard to open. Probably an issue with the casting process.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
