I've never before owned or used a propane grill; always a Weber charcoal kettle. This was a housewarming gift when we moved from Chicago to Georgia. Now that we can cook outdoors year-round, this is especially nice as an outdoor kitchen. I can decide to grill, light it myself instantly (66 yr-old woman), cook the food, and clean up so quickly and easily without the planning ahead and unpredictability of charcoal. Also, the flavorizer bars really do add a nice grilled flavor to the food. Also, I love that it can be used as an oven, with temperature gauge on the front, and can heat bread on the upper rack while grilling meat or veggies.
The grill is good unfortunately it came with a defective frame, and while you sent us the part to replace the back so that we could put on the finishing pieces it would require that we completely take apart the grill and put it back together which is way too much work.
Doesnt work, needs new part, and weber doesnt respond in order to get part

Food sticks to cooking grates even with Weber no stick spray. Don’t be cheap - make the cooking grated better or 100% stainless. If I could return this grill I would.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Purchased this grill after owning is weber summit for over 15 years. I loved my grill but it was looking a little shabby so I decided to replace it with the new Genisis II. I grilled three times on this grill and I am so tired of trying to have the perfect meal on this grill . My smoke salmon and ribeye steaks were terrible! My edges on my ribeye would not even sear. The specs indicate 9000 but it seems not even close to that . I am so disappointed after carding this huge box to my home and taking two days to build I am returning it . I am not giving up on Weber just on the Genisis .
Overall grill seems ok so far. Some design features seem not thought out. 1. Place to hang tools on the side rather than in front like old Weber. Very annoying on this grill. 2. Worst feature: silver metal sides where you would put plates down become very hot in the sun. They reflect heat. On the old grills it was some kind of fake wood which worked fine. Not hot. Also, they scratch easily and show the scratches. Incredibly poorly thought through. I received this grill as a gift to replace old Weber. Would not have purchased it myself because side panels not practical. 3. Igrill 3 so far doesn't work as advertised. I have a direct feed propane line to grill, not a propane tank. I don't see how the igrill shuts off the flame when food reaches the right temperature.
Sorry to be negative. I guess sometimes newer is not always better.
Do not recommend. Stainless steel grates are awful.
