The grill is wonderful; however, I noticed a hissing / leaking sound at the propane connection. The customer service at Weber was far to lengthy to join up with, and I waited on the phone for a very long time. Once connected, the agent stated the issue was likely associated with the tank and suggested I start there. Changing the tank did in fact correct the issue, and I'm a happy customer.
I just replaced my 27 year old Weber Grill with the Genesis II S-435. Just for the "heck of it", I looked at other grills and quite frankly, none compared to the quality of the Weber. The old saying remains -- "you get what you pay for"!! I have used the new grill several times and "just love it"! Just a note: My old grill is still in great working condition (obviously replaced some parts along the way). Treated myself to a newer and bigger grill.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm glad I chose this grill. Weber has never disappointed me. That being said, I wish it could get a little hotter, sear a little easier (searing station helps but not as effective as I thought it would be), and some of the burners don't light on the first click of the ignition. They can take 3-4 times. In the end, this grill works fine, but these concerns are what prevent me from giving it 5 stars.

I am happy with the grill, overall quality is good, but at this price point, I wish that the lower half of the grill was also constructed of stainless steel. Also the endcaps of the side shelves used to be made of gray painted aluminum and are now made of plastic. This grill lives outside on a deck and is exposed to the elements. As with my last genesis grill the "cart" had fell apart before the grill did due to rust. At this price I would have hoped for complete stainless construction.
My previous Weber gas grill last me 20 years, I did have to replace the burners and flavor bars which is normal for that length of time. I just retired from the Air Force and wanted to give myself a gift. Which was going to be a new grill. The old Weber was still going strong and I gave it to me Daughter. I did shop around and read allot of reviews of other grills. I always came back to the Weber. After much thought I finally decided on the S-435. I am truly glad that I did. It is built well and has allot of room for my grilling needs. I really have no complaints and I am really happy with the purchase. It might be a little more than other brands but it is truly "you get what you pay for" and this weber is truly worth the extra cost. My only thing I would pass on is to purchase a grill cover. I believe it helped to make my previous Weber last as long as it did. I am sure it will help make this one last long as well. Maybe long enough to pass the new Weber onto the Grandkids. :).
I'm glad to be back in the saddle of being able to grill again and I'm glad to have a Weber. The warming shelf will not stay secure and I need to figure that out but two other issues bug me a little more. Just enough to knock it down to 4 stars. 1. The low temps. I want to try and slow cook more foods and when I had 3 of the 5 burners on low it still reached 350. I'll have to experiment with one or two and see what happens. 2. The gauge for the tank is a joke and makes no sense whatsoever.

Ugh-propane tank

Nice grill. But why in the world would Weber leave the propane tank exposed. Prior design was so much better with tank behind doors. Really disappointed. It looks cheap. Not a Weber product. Webber really should really design an add on piece. Bad quality without this

Hello, we sincerely appreciate you taking your time to submit your feedback. We updated our design so it will be easier for customers to change their propane tank when getting it refilled. However we will be sure to pass your feedback along to our design team. Most of our product changes and updates are direct result of customer feedback!
This grill has excellent build quality and great performance. It gets up to temp very fast and even heat across the entire grilling surface. The drip pan is very easy to clean. The closed cart allows for a ton of storage especially having the gas tank mounted on the outside. Having the tank on the side also makes it easier to replace. So why do I give it 4 stars? Well I believe at this level Weber should incorporate a rear infrared burner as the summit has. I like the GS4 system but it’s a drawback not having them connected via a common gas rail. You have to light each one individually and if one goes out it won’t relight automatically. Being right handed as most people are I would prefer having the side burner on the left freeing up the right side as a shelf. The shelf should be able to fold as it did in the past. I also believe weber should have a 15 year warranty instead of 10 to be on par with other competitors. Overall I’m glad I went with this grill. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
