Great shelf space & ice dispencer

The door shelves are spacious for all your condiments compared to the narrow shelves of competitors. The ice dispenser shoots the ice into the cup instead of spraying it all over the place like others do. The ice maker is larger than those in most other refrigerators an there is still plenty of storage space inside the freezer. Love the Profile for all of these reasons!

New Refrigerator

I have had it for several months now. Works well, good temperature settings. I wish I had gotten a wider refrigerator and not as deep. Makes ice fast, large capacity ice maker.

Almost exactly what I wanted

I replaced an older GE sidebyside. The only thing missing from this new one that I liked in the was other one measured the amount of water it dispensed. I grew to depend on that measurement and miss the feature. I know this refrigerator and I will be good friends for the next 10 years, too. The lighting system is excellent, it keeps the cold uniform in the refrigerator and freezer. I would like to have more control over the temp in the lowest drawer.

Mixed feelings

Had problems with water filter from the very begin. We installed the fridge in November and I had to change the water filter twice already. Not impressed. Would appreciate assitance with this issue

This is Megan at GE Appliances. The water filter on your model does not have a timeline but goes by the amount of water used and the level of filtration required. Once the sensor indicates that the filter is becoming dirty it will turn orange and then red to tell you it needs to be changed. If you are using a lot of ice or water from the refrigerator the filters will not last as long as they might if you used it minimally. However, if you do not think the indicator is working correctly you can have a technician out to take a look. You can schedule an appointment at 1-800-GE-Cares. We appreciate your review. Really Cool!

Not only does this refrigerator do its job (cold things stay cold and frozen things stay frozen) but it looks beautiful while doing it. You gotta love a refrigerator that makes ice for you and serves it directly into your cup in crushed or cubed fashion along with cold, filtered water. I love having the temperature settings for the fridge and the freezer on the front control panel where they are easy to see. The light is a great feature that helps when you're getting a glass of water before bed. The fridge has lots of options for shelf placement which is great. And the shelves are easy to move/adjust if necessary. The lights all up and down the interior sides make finding stuff really easy. The stainless steel exterior gets a bit fingerprint-y but seems to be easy to clean. The unit runs quietly and efficiently. I like the side-by-side fridge/freezer as it seems more space efficient. We can find food easier in our new side-by-side than we could in our previous top freezer and bottom freezer models. Great fridge and it seems to be less expensive than similar models.

Big ice maker, door needs alignment

The reason I bought this side by side is to match the other Profile appliances in the suite. It is big enought without going to a larger style.
Upon delivery and hookup it was noted that the doors are uneven and will need to be aligned by a repair service.

Great purchase

I researched long and hard on-line, product reviews, as well as shopping in 5 actual stores to see and compare products. My 1st choice was a French door model that wouldn't work in our island kitchen. Love this new GE side by side. It is quite running, excellent storage, love large door storage, spill proof shelves and changing shelf heights so easy move. Pleasantly surprised by the large ice making capacity. The stainless steel doors stay clean too. Very happy the other purchase didn't work.
